We stayed for 7 days in il borgo di genova. The rating of this b&b is well deserved. We liked above all the very personal service and the excellent gastronomic advice. The borgo has an excellent location and this will be even improved as soon as the metrostation will be ready (september 2012?). It's less than 200m from the Brignole...

My partner and I have just returned from this 'cracking' little 'B and B'...(30/6-7/7). When we arrived we were greeted by Giovanni, who kindly carried our cases up a very steep set of stairs, with his father in law.The property itself is very small and compact and has obviously been decorated with lots of love and attention to detail. It is immaculately...

..........to add anything new to previous posts. All the earlier posts are spot-on - the accommodation is excellent and so easy to see why number one rated. Location is good, with main station within five minute walk; area is in early stages of gentrification and comfortable walk to city centre and harbour. If you can negotiate the stairs on entry,...

Hi! We stayed there for two nights in may 2012 and we are still absolutely amazed by the friendliness and kindness of Alessandra and her husband. She was very helpful with every matter we came up with (started from recommendations for parking, sightseeing, restaurant etc.) The house was recently renovated and is in a good shape, as the rooms are...

Located close to one of Genoa's main train stations (Brignole), this charming B&B's main assets are its owners, Allesandra and Giovanni, who were perfect hosts during our 3 days in May 2012. Giavanni's morning coffee and Allesandra's help with excursion ideas, restaurant recommendations, train timetables etc were terrific. Really good value for money, and Genoa has a surprising charm for such...

Alessandra and Giovanni have a very really nice bed & breakfast. They are very helpful and polite. The room is very nice as you can see in the photos. The breakfast is so good. The Alessandra's "ciambella" is really tasty and rich. It's very authentic and beautiful. Near, in Piazza Giuseppe Verdi, You can get the "volabus" and go to...

Alessandra and Giovanni and their charming B&B made our 5 day stay in Genova a sheer delight. Via Borgo degli Incrociati is a quiet street with an excellent restaurant across from the B&B and a transportation hub, with train station, bus depot and taxi stand 'just around the corner.' It is also walking distance to the historic center. The place...

As the year comes to an end we are reflecting on what we have enjoyed most. Top billing has to go to our visit in May to Liguria and in particular the wonderful hospitality we experienced at Il Borgo di Genova. We can't speak too highly of the warmth of the welcome we received from Giovanni and Alessandra. They are...

I stayed at Il Borgo di Genova in early June this year. Alessandra and Giovanni were absolutely wonderful from the initial stages of planning my stay with them to the day of my departure. They made me feel like I was a family member coming to visit. I stayed my last two nights of 18 in Italy with them and...
