Oh what a hotel! My wife and I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights over a weekend in February. We got an upgrade – instead of a double room we were given a suite on the second floor (229). And this was really a suite from paradise! Nice living room, great bedroom, shower in a separate room, the rest...

I recently spent two nights at the above hotel which is situated right on the front overlooking the harbour at Trieste. The reception staff were welcoming and efficient, the room extremely comfortable and well appointed, wonderful beds. Breakfast was generous and very good and the dining room also good. I am happy to recommend it; it is a historic hotel...

First time staying at this property and well worth the visit. The rooms were wonderful with king beds and beautiful decor. Right around the corner from the Piazza and many shops and restaurants. If i had one complaint, it would be the extremely slow room service. It was the worse but let that not detract you from staying here as...

The Star Hotel, Savior Excelsior Palace, Trieste. Wow! This is the type of of hotel one sees only in James Bond movies. The corridors are at least three metres wide, the dining room is opulent with ebony flooring. The library, with its dimmed lighting is the perfect pace to relax, in deed, this is where I am as I write....

For a 5 star hotel the Savoia is OK but misses the mark for excellence. Our junior suite was nice enough but heating was not 100%. Breakfast buffet was good but not as good as some. One key difference was the absence of immediate eye contact and welcoming dmile from all staff. This is a key discerning feature at high...

The room was nicely decorated and spacious. The breakfast buffet had everything imaginable. Come with an appetite!! We upgraded to a room with a view of the water and a balcony and it was well worth it. The hotel was also centrally located although not in walking distance of the train station. We walked and used the bus system to...

Got upgraded without requesting! That alone, already deserves a big plus! But the hotel is great in all ways! Perfect location, spotless clean, luxury interiors, great food and attentions staff. Excellent choice!

My wife and I have been spending four nights at the Excelsior. This is the premier hotel in town, sporting an important tradition as luxury hotel from the Imperial and Royal Habsburg era. Emperor Franz Josef has been a regular guest and important political summits have occurred within the premises also in more recent times. Yet the hotel has been...
