We stayed at Hotel Donatello with a bunch of friends on previous visits to Bologna & will stay again next October. Since it was such a great experience, I want to take time to recommend them. They have an ideal location, being in the middle of everything appealing while also being nice & quiet indoors. They are a short walk... More

This was my second stay at Hotel Donatello. A friendly and helpful staff on arriving always starts a visit on a positive note. The room was clean and had views onto the Via Dell'Indipendenza. The breakfast was excellent. I certainly would return to the hotel should I have the opportunity to visit, again, the beautiful city of Bologna.

I stayed at Hotel Donatello from 1th to 22nd October 2016 and it was a really great stay. The hotel is just 10 minuted walk from the Bologna Centrale and only takes 15 minutes wlak to the sightseeing places. There are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby and close to many shops also. The breakfast in the hotel was the... More

No complaints with the room, very clean, bathroom small but manageable. Quiet room on the 4th floor at the back of the hotel. Staff friendly. Ideal position for station and the town. Only grouse would be that the breakfast, although adequate, could have been much more varied.

Hotel Donatello is quite centrally situated on the Indipendenza, only a five minute's walk away from the main squares and old city center. However, the rooms are miserable. The bed was lousy, the matress old and formed by other people's bodies over the years . The rest of the furniture and colours in the room was depressing. My room faced... More

Just finished staying two nights....room was basic but updated bathroom with good shower pressure. Also very clean and the front desk two ladies during the day were friendly and helpful. You are about a 10 walk from the train stn under covered porticos and another 10 mins to the old city and Neptune fountain and church. The fountain is closed... More

I booked this as a budget hotel that offered great value and my review is based on this. I (55+ woman travelling solo) stayed here for 6 nights in September. As it is close to the train station it is a convenient base for visiting different cities in the area (Parma, Modena, Ravenna, etc.). Also lots of shopping nearby and... More

Basically, as I said in the title the place is falling apart, kind of dirty and quite expensive. I've been there on a business trip so I wasn't the one to pay but I would have been very pissed off otherwise. The location, on the other hand, is fantastic.. literally 1 minute walk from the city center and maybe 10... More

This is a hotel I have used on a number of occasions over the past twenty years. It is clean, the staff are welcoming and the breakfast continental style, good pastries and cakes. Hotel Donatello is within walking distance of the main railway station and bus station. For those who visit the research area CNR the bus stop is about... More

The hotel is not new, but is really nice and clean. The room was really comfortable. It is located in via Indipendenza, in the city center of Bologna, so it's ideal when you want to discover the city. The reception is open 24/7 , and the personnel (both at the front office and the breakfast room) is always kind, and... More
