Overall, I would say this is a very good hotel, it would've been nice however to have known before visiting that the square outside the hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment so it is a bit of a building site which kind of spoils the views from those rooms that have a view. I had read in previous reviews that made a point of mentioning that there were quite a few homeless people lying around close by as this hotel sits right next to the main termini, I had also read that there was quite a smell of urine where various individuals had relieved themselves on the walk up to the hotel entrance not actually in the hotel grounds but outside.
This was quite unpleasant especially in the heat the smell is not good. I do think the hotel could go out each morning and bleach the area, since the building work has made the problem worse since it’s created little booths surrounded by tarpaulin where people cannot be seen. I definitely think once the building work is over this won’t be an issue.
Our first room was a room with a terrace which we had booked ,however all rooms with the terraces are on the ground floor. The room was very dark plus our shower kept on flooding so after the first night we had to move rooms but none were available with a terrace however the room we were offered although a cheaper room was a nice room. What I will say is that the staff in this hotel go out of their way to be accommodating and to do all they can to make your stay enjoyable, doubt you'll find more attentive staff who at the same time are not over bearing, all were very pleasant, the beds and linens used are incredibly comfortable. The breakfast is excellent and as an added bonus you can sit and enjoy your breakfast outside with a view of the Roman defensive wall. The hotel was also very clean and well maintained. Our second room was well appointed, nice and bright. The hotel also has a very nice bar and terrace restaurant on the fifth floor which overlooks Rome, very nice way to see the sunset. As for location. It is literally next door to the main termini so for travelling to the airport it’s perfect. I’m not so sure though that it’s ideal location if you really want to be in the heart of everything since there is still quite a walk to the Colosseum ,Spanish steps, Trevi fountain, we actually walked to the Colosseum, it took us about 25 minutes. We walked to the Vatican again that took us about an hour 15. We like walking so it wasn’t a problem but I can imagine it being an issue for those that don’t wish to walk everywhere as taxis are expensive and the traffic is constant. I definitely think the experience at the hotel would be greatly improved once the building work outside has been finished.
So for our next trip to Rome, I think we’ll give it another go and look forward to it.

Excellent hotel with a very good location next to Termini station that allows immediate access to trains and metro while being a pleasant walk from the city center. Very correct breakfast at a reasonable price that can be taken on the terrace allowing you to enjoy the tranquility surrounding the hotel what is a luxury in Rome. Rooms with the level you would expect from a hotel in this category. We made use of the Roof Top which is a highly recommended place to have a cocktail or dine in a relaxed atmosphere. Very polite and Pro staff which means that in our case we were traveling with the Hotel Collection program of American Express the reception staff knew it perfectly well and applied it in all the associated benefits without having to request it. Hotel absolutely recommended for any type of trip to Rome.

The hotel is stunning and the staff worked very hard to ensure we had a great stay. We would especially like to commend Michela in the dining room for making us feel very welcome and providing excellent customer service. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide assortment of breakfast items that was kept replenished. The room was very big and the bed was comfortable. There is room for improvement with housekeeping (they forgot to give fresh washcloths when they took the dirty ones) and did not clean our room on the first day there while we were out even though we hung on the door please clean room. We ordered room service our first night for dinner because we were tired. We were very disappointed in our meal but the customer service representative made sure to hear our feedback and refunded us a portion of the bill that we had given feedback about. Overall our stay was nice and the staff professional.

I'll start with the moment I check in: Upon arrival, we are checked into the 326 room, which has a creepy and unpleasant smell, just stinks, the room lacked water, all bathroom facilities. When I asked the receptionist why there were no toothbrushes, lotions, ear sticks and cotton discs in bathroom 5* of the hotel, I was told that this is a way to protect the environment, but forgive me, you have homeless people living on the side wall outside the hotel door, completely unhygienic, and you didn't put the supplies in order to protect the environment, I find that completely nonsense. As a result, after much pleading, the Alice girl checks us into 213 rooms, which also lack water and everything, even a towel. We were carried a towel after 1 hour, after we called twice and still went down to the reception, still carried for an hour. We struggled to get water, coffee is creepy at the 5* Hotel. Breakfast: Oh, it's really bad here, really, really bad. For starters, you come to breakfast at Hotel 5*, where you are greeted by a dirty tablecloth and appliances. Whatever plate and glass I take throughout my breakfast stays, everything dirty is just awfully dirty, the shelves are all dirty, the staff are not competent at all at the service and in general at working with guests, it's just a horror. Food in one word fu, how can it be that Italy is a country of cheeses and breakfast is just one kind of cheese, wind-blown chunks of hamon and sausage, as well as a complete absence of fish like snacks. At breakfast, there was simply nothing to eat but eggs, since the salad leaves were lying windswept and in some butter, the service was simply at zero.

From the moment we saw it from our taxi, we were already enchanted. The taxi driver is a historian and provided an overview of Rome history and told us about the piece of the Servian Wall which can be seen while enjoying the hotel’s garden and garden café. The staff greeted us with warmth and professionalism. The door men wear top hats and coats, which upgraded the entry. Front desk staff greeted us in both Italian and English. Our bags were taken up to our rooms while we checked in, and the woman at the front desk, Alessandro, encouraged us to learn some Italian to enjoy the experience and gave us a map with popular sites circled. This team made every effort to help us enjoy our visit and stay. The Sacro Cuore di Gesù in Prati is directly behind the hotel, and our room looked directly at the statue of Gesu. The rooms are so clean, spacious and comfortable. There are upgraded bath amenities to include toothbrush and brush, and the soaps and gels are friendly to sensitive skin. We returned a week later for the ending of our trip where we got to demonstrate a few Italian phrases we had learned over our time.
The restaurant, Grand Tour, is 5 star in our books. The breakfast spread has a lot of choice, so any pallet and diet will be satisfied. Great caffe as well. We opted for a personal dining experience on one of nights. Giacomo, Federica, Elviro and Cristiano provided a meal and service that made us feel like royalty. Indulge in Giacomo’s recommendations for your culinary journey to receive the full effect. The pièce de ré·sis·tance happens to be the affordability of this slice of heaven.

We stayed in this amazing hotel for 6 days while on vacation in the Eternal City. Needless to say, it was a unique and unforgettable stay. Nestled close to the Termini, the location was perf by ect for our daily treks to the city , and our day trips to Florence and Venice. The hotel exceeded my expectations with its modern elegance blended with classic Italian style. Our room has a charming decor, impeccably neat and comfortable with several amenities . There were 2 large screen TVs , however all the programs were understandably only in Italian . The front desk staff was very professional , attentive and responsive to every aspect of our stay, whether it’s the thoughtful recommendation for local dining spot , or simply directions to local attraction or shopping area or even a request for a taxi service. The daily breakfast buffet was always an array of healthy and sumptuous feast to start our day with. Thank you all especially to the young ladies that cleaned our room everyday, to the front desk staff esp Daniel ,Alessandro, and the front desk gentleman who requested the kitchen at 6 am to prepare breakfast -to -go bags to munch on the train since we were leaving early for our day trips to Venice/Florence and provided us with umbrellas because it was rainy those days, our friendly doormen who greeted us warmly everyday, I’m sorry I cannot remember all their names but everyone was just exceptional and went above and beyond. Every little thing meant a lot especially when you’re away from home and the staff was just remarkable and exemplary. Again, thank You NH

Dear Guests, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We are thrilled to hear that your six-day stay with us in the Eternal City was unique and unforgettable. It is great to know that our convenient location near Termini allowed you to easily explore Rome and enjoy day trips to Florence and Venice. We are delighted that our blend of modern elegance and classic Italian style exceeded your expectations, and that you found your room to be charming, neat, and comfortable with several amenities. We apologize for the limited English programming on the TVs, but we hope it did not detract from your overall experience. Your kind words about our front desk staff are greatly appreciated. We are glad they could assist you with dining recommendations, directions, taxi services, and even preparing breakfast-to-go bags for your early trips. We are especially proud of Daniel, Alessandro, and the gentleman who helped with the breakfast bags and umbrellas. Extraordinary experience. Luxury and sobriety. Very good staff. Friendly, very well mannered and cultured. We had dinner three nights at the Hotel. The cuisine is of rare elegance and the three we had to deal with, Samanta, Giacono and Elviro, delicate and very well informed, about the dishes and their pairing with the wines of the peninsula. Memorable!

We specifically booked this luxury hotel through our Costco Travels package just so we’d be close to the Roma Termini on our first visit to Rome. The location was fine, a little sketchy with homeless occupying the hotel stoops but front door security guys were impeccable, welcoming and overall awesome when it came to hailing cabs for us. The front desk and breakfast staff were friendly, professional and responsive to our room tv issues. The breakfast was okay, oddly the coffee terrible and inconsistent.
My issue has to do with the lack of safety and towel bars next to the shower. With a wet, slick tiled shower floor, there are zero safety grab bars anywhere to be found. Additionally, there’s absolutely nowhere to hang your towel nearby. We are physically fit and negotiating the shower experience was an unnecessarily perilous adventure each time. If you are older, possibly have stability concerns, find another hotel for the money.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at NH Collection Roma Palazzo Cinquecento and found that while the hotel boasts a fantastic location and well-maintained, clean rooms, there were a few aspects that left room for improvement.
As a platinum member, I had hoped for some recognition during my stay, such as room upgrades or additional benefits. However, these were not extended, and breakfast was not offered. The room I was assigned, which appeared to be more tailored for accessibility needs, was not what I expected.
The staff interactions could have been more attentive and accommodating to enhance the guest experience. While the hotel has its strengths, certain areas did not meet the expectations one might have for a premium stay.

I recently stayed this hotel for a trip with my family. It was a bit of a splurge for me, but not too expensive, when I stayed I realized how good the value was. I do recommend booking earlier as the nightly rate goes up the sooner your trip is. Don’t wait until the last minute. This hotel is very well located right next to Rome’s Termini train station, so if you are traveling around Italy or planning to arrive or depart from the airport it’s very convenient. The neighborhood is very nice considering it’s proximity to the station. The building is beautiful. The lobby and bar areas are very inviting and well decorated. I enjoyed a night cap or cocktail before heading out for the evening. The staff was so nice! The doormen who usually coordinate taxis are all so kind and helpful. The breakfast buffet is a little pricey, but delicious. I loved my room. It was a corner room with a very large bathroom that felt very luxurious. I loved the bathrobes and slippers. Nice touch! I had a huge king sized bed, and everything looked new, clean and up to date. Very comfortable - great air conditioning. It’s so hot in August. The mini fridge, coffee maker, tea kettle are very nice touches and very convenient. The house keeping staff did and excellent job. Unlike some hotels which save money by not cleaning your room everyday and having less staff, here they clean your room everyday and provide fresh towels and cleaning unless you put a do not disturb sign on your door. Loved it. It’s so nice to come home to the hotel and find everything as fresh as the day you first arrived. This location is not so central to the historic center of they city but it’s close enough. Taxis will change from $8-15 Euros from the hotel to the historic center or across the Tiber River to Trastevere. The Palazzo Massimo / National Roman Museum and the Baths of Diocletian are right across the street and excellent! All together I loved this hotel and my stay in Rome. I also saw that there were many NH collection hotels throughout the city, so if you want to stay in another area I recommend the NH chain. I also stayed at the NH Collection President in Milan and it was also very nice and well located.
