The good is location only. The hosts in Rome in most cases seemed to be spoiled rotten by the constant inflow of tourists and this one is a great example. The room was very tiny, oldy-moldy and not clean well, we were provided only 2 towels, the hair dryer needs to be repaired (in current condition it is dangerous), it's...

It's not very central, however this is made up in spades by it's close proximity to the main rail and bus interchange, making it possible to not only get to all the main attractions by train, bus and metro, but to also easily make a trip to some of the other beautiful parts of Italy just outside Rome. The rooms...

One of the best budget friendly accommodation in Roam. 10 mins walk from the train station and safe and friendly surrounding. I would like to thank our Host Pino, who made our stay so comfortable. Such a friendly, soft-spoken person, who is so apt with his work and his recommendations & suggestion came handy. I was amazed as to how...

It is little bit away from center but we rented bicycles and it was okay for us. Staff was so kind and friendly, typical relax Italian :) Rooms were really good, with high ceiling and cool wooden doors. Chandeliers are also nice with high fan. It's really cheap and good, if you're looking to save your money but not suffer...

Could not fault this place for simple budget accommodation. The host Pino was soo friendly and welcoming, giving us tips and information on surrounding sights and areas. The room was great for a budget option. Very clean and roomy with big window. The shared bathroom was standard and clean which is all you need when sight seeing all day. Water...

If you're after a cheap room, but still expect somewhere clean and decent this is perfect. The owner is lovely, the room was cleaned each day, there was a mini fridge to keep our drinks cool, 10% discount at the downstairs restaurant, free wifi and close to the station. Brilliant stay!

5/5 for its category. quiet neighborhood, with cafes and s/m nearby, close to termini and Metro, safe building, very friendly and helpful stuff, nice and comfortable room with a very good bathroom, all these contributed to a very pleasant and safe stay in this small hotel. would be our first choice again if in town!

The room was clean. Location OK, near the station, good for one night or so but not a long-term stay. They left two bath towels only, no hand towels or wash cloths or cups/glasses in the bathroom. Breakfast was an extra 3 euros, but not worth bothering with. I would not recommend this to anyone visiting Rome for the first...

We book this B&B through Expedia. Pictures looked ok, and the reviews on trip advisor also looked ok. Once we got to the "B&B" (they have no right to be called B&B) there were two floors of stairs, obviously no elevator. The room had a sink inside the bedroom and it looked nothing like the pictures we'd seen before. There...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
