we had breakfast that was vile - and there was just old stale bread and dry hard cake and a bit of ham. never had lunch there but did eat in the restaurant and the food there was great open from 7-11 i think.

Either take the night bus or the last regular bus and get to Termini by about 2/3am and stay inside the station till your train leaves, or else a taxi from the hotel to Termini. The front desk will help you negotiate in order to get a good deal on the taxi but it might be around 20/30 euros, (I am not sure).
