Fantastic location and fantastic service. Room was spacious and the bed was insanely comfortable. The front desk staff was incredibly helpful with check in and storing luggage. Walk right out to Campo de Fiori. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

It's just as well that I checked Streetview before we arrived otherwise we would have been hunting for Mama's Home through the Campo with our suitcases. The entry is nestled between two restaurants and, luckily, the door was open. Behind the door is a corridor. At the end of the corridor are some stairs. No sign of a Reception desk yet. Up the stairs is a desk. I waited while someone finished their leisurely conversation. Oh, you want to check in? Go up this next flight of stairs. Things proceeded smoothly from there. A warm welcome from a lady who spoke good English. You have the suite : it's back down the stairs. The suite's entry is up some other stairs off that entry corridor. Up three steps then the door then up more steps. No landing. Easy enough on the way up. Hopeless on the way down. Unless you're good at crouching to reach the door handle, you open it with your foot. Odd. This room is directly and immediately above those two restaurants I mentioned. On our first night, one of them turned into a nightclub with thumping music until late. Later a street sweeper/washer came through. No sleep that night. The room itself is not what I would call a suite. It's a big room. Our son had a proper bed. Our bed was on a raised area up two steps. The glass-walled bathroom was also up a step as was an additional hand-basin. This is not a room for the mobility-challenged. There were 2 armchairs and a TV. The room was also supplied with a tiny fridge, coffee machine and pods. No kettle. I'm a tea drinker. Back to Reception to ask about a kettle. Oh, you can use the coffee machine to make tea. Hmm. To their credit, a kettle appeared shortly after. Previous reviews have indicated problems with mould in the bathroom of this suite. We didn't see that. But invariably, when we returned to the room after it had been serviced, there was an overwhelming disinfectant smell. We would rush through to open the windows. We have never experienced something like that before. The polished concrete floors were also very slippery. I don't know what was put on them to make them so slippery. I used the supplied slippers, choosing not to put bare feet on the floor. Perhaps the previous problems of mould are caused by dodgy plumbing. Washing your hands in the basin resulted in disconcerting gurgling from the toilet. And vice versa. Like many hotel rooms we have encountered on this trip, the lighting is poor. No bedside lights. If you want to read, bring a torch. The included breakfast is fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee or tea, and a sugar coated croissant at the cafe next door. Or you can trade up for something more substantial and pay the difference. Summary : I didn't love the room. Can't beat the location.

The location was good. It really doesn't look like a hotel on the outside. It's just a door with sign over it. If someone is at the desk, you can get buzzed in the security door. If not, you call and hope. Once in, it has an eerie feel to it and it's not obvious where you go to find the desk. There are dark stairs and hallways with lots of steps. The lift is tiny and for luggage only. Communication is near impossible. Their English is just a bit better than my Italian. However, I speak no Italian. There is frequently no one at the desk and you have to call someone who knows no English. The rooms are very dark and noisy. The attempt to give the rooms a modern, industrial look comes across feeling hard and unfriendly and sort of what I would imagine a jail cell would feel like. Do yourself a favor and find a different hotel. You can easily do much better. Not sure you could do worse.

Excellent location. Lots of good food around. Walking distance from major landmarks. We did not use metro (although I believe metro is not close by). Lots of character. Clean and comfortable. Professional staff. Ideal for a short stay and worth considering rooms with Campo de Fiori view.

Fabulous position in the Campo dei Fiori. So much life ! The room was for 3 of us and was so roomy and we loved the industrial look. My daughter left her apple watch in the room and Mama's House owner arranged to send it to us in Australia. So kind. Thank you! Will definitely stay there again.

This location is the best! Our suite was huge and gorgeous! Being on the square was the best thing ever. It unfortunately the suite the one that sits just above the entry is noisy! I’m not talking about noise from the street, the double glazed windows do a great job. I’m talking about noise from the restaurants below. Around 1 to 2am the scrapping of the tables and chairs when putting them away and the pulling up of the garbage doors used for storage. It is loud and earplugs don’t block it. The front door being constantly slammed is right next to the bed and it’s going 24/7. You can clearly hear the voices of people upstairs, the ceiling is low and no insulation. I didn’t have a full night sleep here and my easy going sleeping husband was up all night too. There is also a strange smell in room, something from the bathroom? It was there when we got there and there when we left. Not great. Andrea was great and very responsive but he can’t deal with an old building in the market square. If you stay here, stay high in the building!!! It’s ok to face the square, it’s fantastic but go high to avoid the noise. This the second time I’ve stayed at this hotel. The first time was a very different experience to this one.

We spent 4 nights here in September 2022. I was with my wife and 13 yo son. We all loved the place. It sits right on the square and it is great to see the market in action everyday and the pop out restaurants at night. The room was large and clean and the staff were friendly and attentive. The double glazing on the the large door/window made for a peaceful nights sleep or some quiet time during the day. The air conditioner was quiet and very efficient and the bathroom was spacious and well fitted out. You simply can’t beat the location and every taxi driver in Rome knows it. A short walk across the River to the Travastere district but quite frankly this was just as good and less crowded. Ps: the best eating is in the restaurants just off the piazza in my view.

We stayed at Mama’s for 5 nights. As others have said, rooms are up quite a few stairs, but this isn’t really a problem and there is a very small lift if you really need it. We went when it was 36 degrees and the beautifully air conditioned rooms saved our lives! You can hear quite easily through the walls and it takes a little getting used to the bathroom being glass and separated by a curtain, but honestly these are very easily forgotten when set aside the most amazing location, the air-con, modern decor, cleanliness, nice coffee, fridge in room, nice big bed and friendly service, with everything changed every day. We had a view of the square, which was vibrant at night, but absolutely silent behind a triple-glazed window when it was time for sleep. There is no bar or restaurant attached, but with upwards of 20 restaurants within 100m, there is no need for either. You could literally stay there a week and not even leave the square! The location was very handy - we never got on public transport once (I’d recommend a slightly expensive but life-saving airport transfer, which can be arranged for you) and we’re never more than 30 mins by foot away from every top attraction in Rome. It was very easy to head back for an hour to cool off before our next expedition in the heat. Nowhere is perfect but I would say all things considered this was pretty close. I would not hesitate to recommend or to go back and see Enrica and the team. An absolute pleasure 😀.

My husband and I spent one night May 19, 2022. The hotel was difficult to locate. It was also very dark and we had a room that was up 4 flights of stairs. We were told we had to be very careful when using the lift. It could not accommodate much weight. The electricity worked off the room key and at 10pm we lost electricity. Our room was in the back so it was very dark We had no lights, no tv, no phone charger,no hair dryer and no ability to leave the room and lock the door. There was no one on duty so we .called the emergency numbers listed in the room and no one answered. We had to shower, dress and search for our belongings in the dark to get to our early morning flight home. The situation caused us to be awake most of the night. As we were leaving for the airport the person who had checked us in arrived but said he had no idea why we had no electricity and he did not have the authority to adjust our bill. To date we have not received any adjustment to our bill for the inconvenience we experienced.
