The receptionist accommodated our early check-in without hassles, gave us map and guidance to visit Rome's timeless attractions. Our veg breakfast was good and wholesome! This is very close to the central station Termini - exit and walk left - ask for directions from the nearby fruit vendors if lost!

Had to race into rome to drop my daughter off for a flight out the following day. Jumped the net and found a room for E70 at Hotel Touring......with breakfast. Needed 2 single beds got 3 and a sterile room was at our disposal. This is the bottom end of the room feeding chain but when you just want the... More

We have chosen this small hotel at our first trip to Rome and it was the best one from all the others. It very close to railway station and at the same time not on the main noise street. So you don’t have to cross all the city with luggage. And City Bus Tour station is after next corner. It... More

Visited this hotel with a friend for two nights in July 2014. The elderly lady receptionist could not speak a word of English. Were given a triple room instead of a double because someone clearly messed something up, however the room was nice either way. Breakfast was delivered to a room in the morning and consisted of a cup of... More

No English speakers, no flexible staff, you don't get what is said and promised. You can ask, but you will not get because nice room from picture is not available, it is just picture, they say. Good luck

Hotel Touring was cheap (58euro) and pretty large room was a big suprise for us but wifi was not good and we lost contact very fast, this was a bad thing. But never the less, location of this hotel is superb, it's very close (300m) from rome Termini and metro station, about 200m from Mcdonalds and bunch of other restaurants... More

i notice the reviews state friendly staff. I have travelled a fair bit and we have never encountered such ignorant and unhelpful staff-all four we encountered. maybe they were all having a bad day or they didn't like us. i don't know. the location was excellent, the cleaning/ house maids were efficient and very friendly. the rooms were very good... The hotel is very basic, as is to be expected in a "two star" and even more. For example, we don't expect the hairdryer in a hotel in this class; but also the bidet, rare in other countries and instead ubiquitous in Italy, is absent here. The breakfast room is lacking; then it (also very basic) is brought on a... More

Very handy location, about 2 blocks from the train station and a big sign outside. Up 3 flights of stairs, or 1 small flight and the old style claustrophobic elevator. Decent sized room and dead quiet at night with double glazed windows and extra shutters. Open them all up in the morning for great ventilation. Minimalist breakfast - coffee and... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

“Even after reading above you wish to stay, ask them for a frint facing room and something which is lower than 3rd floor, since then you'll have less steps to climb, since the elevator is scary and the wireless might work too.”
