Hotel is modern, clean, fresh. The location is near Termini station which is vaguely convenient but industrial feeling with homeless people milling around. The hotel has great security but I would recommend looking for budget hotels around the Spanish Steps area (ie: Hotel Condotti). The Spanish Steps themselves are extensively overrated but the area is really wonderful to people watch,...

I never, ever write reviews but I am so thankful for all the reviews before me as they were so helpful, I feel compelled to share my experience. Yes Hotel is the BEST location. If you plan on using the Metro to get around Rome (or out of Rome) Yes is literally one block from the MAIN train station and...

The hotel is modern and functional, but very clean; reception staff were very helpful and spoke very good English; the breakfast buffet is extensive (maybe the toaster was a bit on the temperamental side...), the beds were very comfortable, the room was big enough. The Via Magenta is a quiet side street, which means that noise isn't a big problem...

The reception staffs were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast were good and with various choices. Room was clean, warm. The only problem is "cups", you could not find a glass or cup for drinking purpose. All were plastic ones in the restroom.

The hotel was a little hard to find because it doesn't have a large sign. The hotel itself was really nice, the rooms were small but clean and the bathroom was really modern. The front desk staff were great. The location was really what attracted us to this hotel. It is right by the train station/subway/bus depot. The only really...

The hotel is located within a couple of blocks if you are arriving at Roma Termini, which includes the Terravission transfer from Ciampino Airport. Rooms are small, but modern, clean and functional with all the basics you would need for a short break. The staff are extremely welcoming and have excellent English if your Italian is not up to scratch....

We were travelling around Italy with 3 other couples, spending time in Rome, Venice, Tuscany and the Cinque Terre. We chose this hotel for our last, stopover, night in Rome, having arrived in Rome by train from Venice in the afternoon on our return journey, and due to leave Rome airport the next morning. Thus, it was really only a...

If you're traveling to Rome by train it's super convenient to stay near the Termini station. not the prettiest area, but who wants to haul baggage around the city? The area is full of hotels but in all my many trips this is the nicest I've found. Rooms are new and clean. the shower worked. staff was incredibly nice -...

I've travelled quite a bit and stayed in many hotels but YES hotel is a little gem. This 'boutique hotel is a 5min walk from Termini (train station) its in a very central location but tranquil for a good night's sleep. Reasonably priced and everything about the hotel was fabulous - helpful, pleasant staff, clean, comfortable and modern room (with...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
