San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo may look all street with its pulse in urban art and street food, but don’t be fooled. This gritty student neighbourhood immediately east of Termini train station is on the avant-garde rise. Art galleries, curated mural projects by artists like Rome’s favorite Alice, charming cafes, and boutique restaurants are slowly infiltrating the streets of San Lorenzo with counter-culture chic. Don’t worry, San Lorenzo still retains its local vibe with weekend festivals and demonstrations, and is always a hub for Rome’s university student scene.

Very good location, cozy, clean and comfortable room, nice owners. Nearly ancient Rome, about 30 minutes walk to Colosseum and 15 minutes walk to Termini Railway Station. Many good restaurants, pubs and coffe shops.

First, I was a bit overwhelmed by Rome in general, so that may color these comments, but this was a decent place off the beaten path. My husband and I had a difficult time finding the place (late at night, walking from Termini station, got...More

Despite a bit of a dodgy neighbourhood a couple blocks south of this B&B this is a prime location to access the city. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable and the staff was helpful, although not always there. Nonetheless, for the price I would...More
