A great stay here! Very welcoming and friendly in reception! The socials spaces were easy to access as well as clean. Rooms were large and extremely well set up with sharing bathroom and lockers and safes included. The bar across the street was well priced and everyone was very friendly! I would highly recommend this hostel if visiting Rome its close to the metro and station making it easy to access different areas

I booked a room here after the hotel I chose had only two nights available and I had to find something else last minute. The private rooms were more expensive than the other hotel I booked and too basic for what they offer (especially if you think that the other hotel had a sauna and a massage chair in the room for a cheaper price)
The toilet kept buzzing after you flushed it for a while.
The shower is too small.
Maybe the dorms would be better if you don't need the privacy.
Oh, and the check out time is at 10!

Hello, thanks for sharing your experience with us at Yellowsquare! The price depends on availability and on the website you can read all the information about it. For any inconvenience, the reception is open 24/7 and if you need help they're there anytime! The check-out of private rooms is at 11 and not later because other people have to check in later on in the day :) Hope you can come visit soon !

Aside from the location, the hostel is very clean and the beds are quite comfortable. The downside is, this is a party hostel and if your room is next to the street then it would be very noisy at night because of the hostel bar. Some of the hostel & bar staff are friendly and some are very snobbish and one is very annoying (i think his name is James and he's an Indian Italian). The party at the basement is really fun but only a few chosen ones are allowed to party there- if you are not that pretty and you look boring then sorry they won't let you join. BUT If you are with cool party people then you can go in. I was able to join the party lots of times and what I noticed is that, if you are friends with the staff then you surely can join the party regardless if you are a hostel guest or not. Fortunately, the coffee and croissants are so cheap at the bar, so make sure to buy your morning coffee there. All in all, I would still go back because of the location and I would request a room far from the street. ;)

The bed pods are made of sheet metal, making an insane amount of noise every time anyone moves. There's also no privacy curtain in the female four-pod, you can use the bedsheet as a makeshift one but it gets hot. The bathroom was quite dated but did the job, although the towels are extra. They did offer a free drink on arrival and the hostel itself is aesthetically pleasing.

We were a group coming for a sports competition, contact had been made several months before. First of all, the cleanliness of the rooms was not perfect and the structure seems a little old and worn. Many things need to be renovated. Then, our room was just above the bar in the annex building, although in my first contacts, I had asked how the different parts were located. So there was music just below every evening and notably on the first evening an Ibiza style DJ even with earplugs it was impossible to sleep with the bass. So I started the competition extremely tired. Having only slept two hours. We had busy days. We leave early in the morning and return late. In the evening I was offered a room but it seemed difficult in terms of organization. The others will be linked had less bass, but still music and especially the smell of smoke from people smoking on the side of the bar. And so right in front of the entrance, the smell went up to the first floor. Having several activities does not pose a problem to me, but it is really important that each one does not slip into the other because I have been told. “it’s a party hotel”! Okay, but when can you not sleep in a hotel? I suppose that as it closed late, the opening hours of the bar were very random for breakfast supposed to start at 7:30 a.m., one day at 8:15, one day no kitchen...(over 4 days) otherwise, the dormitory was good, the beds were comfortable and the staff were very charming, although little invested in the well-being of guests who were not young partygoers.. I think that this place should be reserved only for this type of clientele and should know how to refuse what doesn't fit obviously hard to know if it's because of the bad nights, but we didn't win

They left my friend and her mom without a room because of a ridiculous policy that doesn't allow people over 45 years old to stay in shared rooms. They had already paid for the room and are now trying to find a place to stay in Rome, but the hostel refuses to refund them. This is insane.

Stayed at YellowSquare for 5D 4N in August, in one of their private rooms with a double bed.
The room was of decent quality, with a functional en suite bathroom, and I can't recall being disturbed excessively by surrounding noise.
The hostel stands out for the abundance of facilities - the bar opposite the hostel which is great for meeting traveller comrades, lounge and even a hair salon!
Location means a half an hour walk or so to the key tourist sites, and only a five minute walk from the train station.
Reccomended if you are staying in Rome

Like Rome, The Yellow Square is somewhere that everyone should experience during their travels. From their fun and helpful multicultural staff members, cultural daily activities, nightlife and safe and clean dorm rooms, The Yellow Square really does stand to it's reputation. Discounted drinks, breakfast and dinner for all residents and members is the real cherry on top! Ariette, Tom, Michael and several other staff members from various departments made my stay there very accommodating. The Yellow Square felt not just like hostel but more like a community and a family. For those who wish to stop off in Rome, Florence or Milan in their travels, make sure to use The Yellow Square. It's a truly bucket list hostel.

When I did an Interrail trip last summer, I stayed in the Yellow twice. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for an affordable and safe place to stay where they can also meet other travellers.
I love the whole concept of this place. Especially, the bar is a highlight as it’s a great place to meet new people. Hostel guests get discount and there’s free pasta at 6pm! Moreover, they usually have live music or live dj sets on the weekend.
It’s not far from the main train station, so perfect for anyone travelling by train. Also they offer free tours which is fun as well and they have partners where you get discount too.

A terrible, awful service. I was treated extremely badly. Unbelievable the lack of cordiality. We had a problem regarding the age of one of the guests (pasmem: people over 45 years old can not stay in shared rooms, but we only knew about it there!!!). The absurd justification for this: the "IDOSAS" people make negative evaluations!!! And the worst, they don't offer you any solution, much less a refund. So if you go to Rome, forget about that place or you get angry.

Hey there, thanks for your question! We usually have Karaoke nights every Saturday. But sometime we add an extra night during the week, so I would say it depends on the period you will be visiting us. For more information you can find all the events per day on our Facebook page: The Yellow Bar, or our official site YellowSquare
Hey there! Yes, you can book a room at YellowSquare with card at any time :)
It only depends on the availability for the period you are looking to book. Cheers
