Hostel has basic facilities and a great central location. We stayed here for a week and had countless problems with the reception staff. The male staff member was particularly rude and attempted to blackmail us into leaving a good review online, no thanks! DO NOT stay here if you are young and want to meet people or socialise. If you...

OK, Hotel Beaufutful, is not exactly Beautiful, but I hae stayed there every year for about 10 years now and (final) felt compled to review it. People need to realise that for the price and location they are getting an absolute bargain. It you want luxury, you'll pay 4 times as much and have a hard time finding the place....

We stayed in Hotel Beautiful II. Relatively clean, great location for value for money (short walk into the city). The room was quite dark but very roomy considering it was a room for 4. We booked a mixed room but they offered us a single sex (female) room on arrival. The only downside being that it was up 4 sets...

We found the service at hotel beautiful 2 to be far below what we had experienced elsewhere in Europe. While most things (except the lock on our door!) worked the placed just seemed to be lazily run with frequent problems. Staff were nice but seemingly a bit incompetent. I wouldn't recommend it.

The hotel is close to the Termini trainstation which is convenient, you can take trains and subways to pretty much everywhere, but do watch your bags, suitcases and wallets because this area (just as most parts of Rome, actually) is known for theft and pickpockets. The hotel is good, it's really really cheap for accomodation in Rome so our expectations...

The service first off was terrible, you were left to figure everything out for yourself in a very confusing building. No air conditioning! the room was so hot we couldn't sleep. You weren't provided with towels and the wifi was only available in the stuffy common room. I've stayed in much nicer hotels for a cheaper price!

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
