Bit of a last minute find, not central, not that easy to access, and a bit basic - but just the most wonderful stay one could imagine! It's the staff that make the stay here so good: friendly, helpful, relaxed. Great with kids too! Off the beaten track a bit, but that made the stay affordable compared to some of...

The hotel rooms are plain but serviceable. More importantly, they are clean and the staff are wonderful. The Magnolia is not in the central area of the city but it is close to a metro stop and a grocery store. The advantage of this location is that it is a very quiet neighborhood.

The walls are a little thin, so if you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs. If you plan to utilize your kitchenette make sure to stop...

The hotel is quite sad and the area very sketchy. I know Rome is not the cleanest town around, but the walk from the metro to the hotel was ugly. While the staff was friendly and helpful it could not make up for the depressing surrounding. I did not feel safe.
