Booked a room here for one night, the last weekend in April using Booking.com. I emailed the hotel prior to our arrival and let them know we would be there at 10am (they ask to be notified of your check in time) even though the regular check in time is 11:30am. They emailed me back confirming the arrival time. When...

never again. we waited an hour for the manager came to open and the room was not ready and too narrow. The bathroom too small malfunctioning and poor. The air conditioner very annoying to have to switch off the noise after 5 minutes. Last but not least the breakfast worse than in a soup kitchen. Horrible experience, Luckily Rome with...

We wanted to stay centrally in Rome - and this was an excellent place for that. We wanted a place where we could stay in the ghetto and be able to walk everywhere in Rome. This fit the bill perfectly. The people who manage it were friendly and helpful. Our room was a good size and we had a view...

If you want a hotel. Get a hotel room. If you want the awesome experience of sleeping in a medieval building (at a fraction of the price of a hotel) then book a room here. The staff are also very friendly and speak fluent English.

The location is excellent, the room is nice. The breakfast is not worth mentioning (Didn't touch it- any neighbourhood bar offers a better alternative). We were looking forward to 2 nights here but 24hrs before our arrival they told us there was a problem with the room and they had to put it out of service the 2nd night. We...

Fantastic customer service, brilliant location, very clean and comfortable...I highly recommend this B&B. The breakfast was very basic (I did not eat it) but there are plenty of restaurants/cafes on your doorstep. We did not use the A/C as the ceiling fan with the window wide open was fine.

Why young couples? Because this is virtually a self-service hotel at the top of several flights of steep stairs. A member of staff is only present for two hours per day; at other times you have to call if you have a problem, or if you want to check-in after 16.30. However, the location is perfect - the quiet, quaint...

The main advantage of the hotel is its location, as all sights are within walking distance. However its on the 4th floor of an old building, which means that there is no elevator so you should be prepared to carry your luggage. Also, breakfast isthe typical Italian breakfast of coffee and a small croissant. The insulation is very bad which...

This was a great place to stay for our two nites in Rome. Centrally located and walking distance to all the historic cites. Right around the corner from Campo di Fiore, the ruins and the Collosseum. Wear comfortable shoes and you will be fine....as long as you can get up those 5 flights of steep stairs. We stayed here with...

Booked here after another hotel cancelled our booking 48 hours after confirming! Were better off in the end as this bed and breakfast is ideally situated- 2 mins to Largo Argentina, 5 mins on foot to Capitol or the Pantheon. Had to wait for the cleaner to let us in (no reception on site but 5 mins away so phone...

Staying in Ghetto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ghetto
The mini-neigbourhood Ghetto holds tight to its reputation as a stand-alone area thanks to its nearly 300-year history as the home to Rome’s Jewish community. Times changed in the 20th century, but the tiny area still retains its mix of tradition, community, and history. Ancient and medieval architectural design frames apartments, bakeries, shops, and restaurants. Friends and families are the pulse of the neighbourhood, keeping company on the Via del Portico d’Ottavia. The Ghetto observes the traditional Jewish Shabbat: businesses close from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown.
