This must be the only hotel I have made a reservation in the past 10 years that didn't send an email reminding you of your upcoming stay. I thought I cancelled the reservation I made over a month ago to realised that I have been charged a night stay. Had I received a reminder, this would not have happened. Maybe... More

Very Comfortable Hotel with very pleasant staff, location could not be better, you can walk almost everywhere, if not the famous 64 Bus (Vatican) operates right outside. Close to Termini Station, quite simply cars and taxis are not required.

This is a small family owned hotel that is very quaint, cute and clean. It is central to the tourist spots, reasonably priced and was perfect for a weekend in Rome on a budget. I was there in early September. AC was a must at this time and the unit in my room worked very well. No frills, but comfortable... More

We keep coming back to this charming hotel when in Rome because of the hospitality of the family that runs it. Eleanora is now joined by her daughter Valentina in the business and the service has remained at a high standard since we first visited in 2000. The hotel is comfortable and clean, the location cannot be beat for access... More

Ok, you should not expect anything much from a budget hotel but there are many things to criticise here. First of all, breakfast is a joke. It is served in a small area with only 4 tables available and with so few selections. Showers are for only people that should be modelling. With a little bit of weight in your... More

Small rooms, but otherwise perfect! Very friendly staff, nice breakfast ( serverd 7.30-10), excellent location. We walked everywhere, but metro and train is also close. Will absolutely stay here again if going to Rome. Good value for money!

It smells very bad ,not so clean. The breakfast is very poor and you have to wake up early in order to eat something. The distance to the centre of the city is about 1 km, not so far. The staff is not so gently. Rome is very expensive town so the prices of the hotel are quite good.

Rome is expensive, and Martini is a good option for those on a budget who don't object to a small bedroom. The bed was comfortable, and the breakfast good. And, since it's not far from the Terminale station, it's possible to wheel a suitcase there rather than take a taxi.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
