I saw all the great reviews for Hotel Golden so I tried to book it for my family for our trip to Rome in May. Unfortunately, only 2/3 nights was available (the first night was booked solid). I emailed them and asked if they had any cancellations, but they did not. Giuseppe recommended we stay at a hotel across the...

We arrived at the hotel early due to flight time. We intended to just drop our bags off until we could check-in. We were warmly greeted by Giuseppe who instantly made us feel welcome and provided us with loads of useful tips and a map with lots of points of interests, restaurants to visit and bus routes. This map was well...

We stayed here a few days ago during a 2-night stay in Rome. Family-run hotel with much character. Convenient location right along the city walls. Short walk to the Spanish steps, shopping, and of course wonderful restaurants. They were very welcomimng, loved the homemade breakfast! Also felt very safe as the front doors are locked most of the time. The...

It was wonderful to visit the family again. They make us feel so welcome. This was our third visit. This time we brought friends with us and our granddaughter. Our granddaughter is working as an au pair in Berlin so we flew her to Rome to celebrate her 21st birthday with us. When we entered our room there were balloons...

We followed the tripadvisor recommendations on this family-run hotel and found it to be fantastic. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful; great, air-conditioned room; breakfasts - superb, wide selection; excellent value for money. The pre-arranged pick-up at the airport was really useful, and on arrival at the hotel we were given a map of Rome and able to discuss were...

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Golden for two nights and I wish it could have been longer. The hotel is family run, with all the attention to detail that implies. All the family members were extremely kind and helpful. The room was comfortable and very quiet, in spite of being located in a very accessible part of Rome....

My wife, two children (ages 13 and 12) and I spent 5 days in Rome and our stay was excellent due primarily to the family who run this hotel. We were so blown away by how helpful, gracious and pleasant they were that we bought them flowers when we left. The wonderful location of the hotel was just an extra...

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
