The ratings on Tripadvisor are well deserved. We stayed for 5 days in August and had a wonderful time. Joselin looked after us extremely well, as the Owners were away. Nothing was to much trouble including helping with reservations for a number of the great local restaurants. When I say local you literarily just walk out the door and there...

This lovely B&B is the perfect place to explore Rome in a most memorable way. Marco and Gianna (and their staff) are excellent hosts who make sure guests are comfortable and well cared-for. Being in Rome in early July, it was hot and muggy, but this jewel was always a cool oasis in which to relax and recover from touring...

This place was amazing. Joselin was super helpful and accommodating. Marco arrived the day we were leaving and he was charming and kind. Very elegant and charming place. The room had a little terrace and we felt so fortunate to find this little gem. The location in Trastavere was perfect for our short stay. Thank you to Joselin and Marco...

This was the most perfect place to stay in Rome. I absolutely loved the charming, small quality of the guest house, meeting other guests, and being able to learn more about the city from Marco and his team! The guest house was clean, quiet, and the breakfast was delicious! I cannot recommend it highly enough. Trestevere was an ideal location,...

Marco, Gianna and staff, thank you so much for the wonderful stay. Location is perfect, away from the throngs but close to everything. Stuck away in a neighbourhood that was very important during Roman Times in the way it provided sustenance to the city in those times. An Explorers paradise... Oh, and the accommodation... clean, interesting, healthy breakfast plus homemade...

I loved this place! I try to travel to Europe every summer with my two teenagers and each time I look for places that are in a neighborhood great for walking and exploring, that are characteristic of the city we are visiting, and that offers a chance to meet the local host. Arco dei Tolomei very much fit this bill...

First, learn from my mistake! When you leave the building, turn RIGHT...like a dummy I always turned LEFT and got so darn lost in the labyrinth of cobblestone streets...turning right (which I only did my last night) proves this is an ideal location. This is in my favorite part of Rome, Travestevere. Many reviews speak about the warmth of the...

This is a lovely little place in a fabulous neighborhood. That being said, it's not the easiest place to find and GPS (at least ours) did not work, and the local shop employees didn't know where the street was either and clearly our cab driver didn't since he dropped us off on the wrong street. The main areas of the...

Residenza Arco dei Tolomei is a quaint guest house in Trastevere. We loved being away from the super touristy areas of Rome but just a short walk away from all the action. Tons of great spots to eat in the area. The guest house is quaint, simple and clean. We had a lovely room with a big bathroom and a...

My second stay here. A lovely best House with a fabulous host. Marco as the owner is superb. He gives everyone so much time and is so friendly and helpful offering great advice on where to go and how to get places. Breakfast is a rather typical continental offering but the rooms are lovely, independently decorated, clean and comfortable. A...

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
