The neighborhood and the Hotel were an absolute delight. The breakfast was rich, the place clean and quiet. Also, near a metro station an walking distance from the sightseeing points. Have nothing to point out as negative whatsoever!

This is a lovely hotel, in a quiet residential location with great restaurants within a 10 minute walk. The staff were brilliant, really helpful with regards places to eat, taxis etc. The decor as you can see from the pictures is grand and very Italian. Stayed at this hotel in October. The hotel is situated about 10-15 mins walk from all the main attractions and restaurants. The receptionist's went out of their way to look after us. Room was on a bit of the small side but as we spent most of our time out it didn't matter. The hotel s situated in a quiet... More

This is a beautiful hotel, loaded with character. It is on quiet Aventine Hill, with some of the best views of Rome just a five minute walk away. The staff is friendly and eager to help out. As it was once a residence and the rooms are retrofitted, there are a few quirks. But I think it is worth experiencing the... More

Hotel Aventino is the least expensive of the three "Aventino" hotel (San Anselmo and San Pio the other two). We have stayed in all three; our favorite is the San Pio, more costl;y than the Aventino. The Aventiono is a very good choice -- in a residential area iit is very quiet, close to public transportation and very good restaurants... More

Standard of the hotel is as always very good. The area is very quiet but still close to the city centre and Trastevere and Testacio. Close to the hotel you find spots with a fantastic view over Rome and the Saint Peter Basilica.

Lovely small hotel away from busy Rome center. May need a taxi to get to usual sites although a hop on hop off bus does stop at the bottom of the hill, it is still a bit of a walk. The hotel staff members are very helpful to guests.

Hotel Aventino is very nice in every respect. We chose the hotel because it was in a quiet neighborhood and because it had strong, free WIFI. (Oddly, one had to get a new wifi password for each device every day or two.) We would go back. Room 347 was on the second (not third) floor, was indeed quiet, well furnished,... More

Staying in Aventine

Neighbourhood Profile
Aventine
Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is Rome’s oasis. A neighbourhood made up of a patchwork of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of surprises like the clever little keyhole at the Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find a line) along with Parco Savello (Giardino degli Aranci) next to the ancient Santa Sabina church. Keep your eyes on the 1960s architecture, several modern buildings are built atop Rome’s original 4th century BC wall.
