The hotel itself is dated and not well maintained. The staff speaks very little English. As several other reviewers have mentioned, it's not in a nice part of town. Everything closes around 6pm and the streets are deserted. Plus it's quite far from anything. We stayed there for one night before catching the train to the airport, it's a long...

Hotel room was excellent. Big room, big bed, 2 fridges, nice bathroom with shampoo and shower gel and it was clean. The room looked more than a 2 star hotel. Reception was average, though we had to pay taxes we were not aware of and they stored our luggage as we stayed in rome for a few hours after check...

For a 3*, this hotel is very nice. It is located quite a walk from the city centre (pantheon etc), but it only a 15 min walk from the Colosseum and Roma Termini station. The way to get to the room is slightly odd, with a series of doors, to which you have a key as they are always locked,...

Our group of 4 booked two twin rooms here on the last night of our Italy vacation. Knew we had to leave for the airport at 3:45 AM so didn't want to spend a whole lot of $ for a room. This was perfect. The beds sheets were crisp and clean and the bathroom was large enough (had the largest...

I stayed here for one night and was very comfortable. While the hotel's address is on a rather "glum" street, once you go through the old wooden door (watch your head!), you walk down a long hallway of sorts, and then into a really pretty indoor courtyard. It is very quaint and I was pleasantly surprised! You enter into another...

Great hotel for what you pay for, very clean and a nice looking room. The location is great as it's quite central. Highly recommended if youre trying to budget a holiday and don't want to spend too much on a hotel!

My older son, dad & I arrived on the late flight into Rome and got to hotel late. When we arrived hotel, there was no one there. We didn't quite know what to do or where we would stay, as we arranged late arrival. All of a sudden, we saw Paolo, and he came to let us in. (I could...

Great option to stay in Rome. It's close to the Colosseum and Termini Station. Metro station is even closer. Rooms are clean and comfortable, staff is friendly and helpful. Shops and gelato right next door. Recommend

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
