Hotel was in a convenient location near the train/bus/subway station which made travel easier. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast room was pleasant and there was a good selection of items, including made to order cappuccino each morning. They let us check in early but told us we would have to move to another room the next day (they moved...

It's a nice place in a great location. It's close to the train station and it's in the middle of everything. Restaurants and the transportation terminal are close by. The staff is friendly and attentive. They also help you if you have any questions about the city.

For my first visit to Rome It was nice to be so close to Termini station. The staff were welcoming and helpful...and made a great cappuccino! The room had much needed air conditioning and a noisy but needed overhead fan. Towels were large and the water was hot. Will probably look for another hotel for the next visit, but appreciate...

This hotel is a 1 star property with a five star staff. The hotel is clean, the hotel is 5 minutes from the main train station, the breakfast is basic, but , what there is good. This is a old building with many updates done on a budget, but , if you are running around all day who cares.

Only 2 1/2 short blocks from the main train station and close to the main bus terminal, it's in a good spot. Neighborhoods near train stations usually don't look too good, and this looked a little down, but this was completely safe. Staff was friendly and helpful, breakfasts adequate, rooms fine. A/C was fine. Price reasonable. Only problem -- hotel...

We stayed at Hotel Assisi for four nights and we were not thrilled about it. Before I get into the reasons as to why we were not thrilled about our stay, I want to clearly state that the service was truly fantastic. The people who worked at the reception desk were always very helpful. They marked things on the map...

Hotel basic, bathroom rather tiny but adequate. Well positioned near the main station for metro and buses. Delightful helpful receptionist. Good breakfast selection. Many restaurants in close proximity, including two next door. Why walk further?

Room was basic, clean and adequate. Room was large compared to other hotel rooms I have stayed in Rome. Staff were very friendly and helpful and breakfast was nice. Location was good and within easy walking distance from main train station.

The location was perfect. Close to train and the metro. Easy access. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was very simple and run down. Shower needs an update. Beds are very uncomfortable and hard. Nights are loud due to restaurants on same street. Nothing... NOTHING to watch on tv at night. Only news. Breakfast in the morning is very poor....

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
