This hotel was in a great location, near Villa Borgese Park in Rome, and if you don't mind a bit of walking, it is a good central location for a Rome sight seeing tour (even if next time we would go to the area North of Termini which seems a much cheaper and less touristy place, but not as dangerous...

My husband and I have just returned back from a lovely weekend in Rome. What an amazing place! Hotel Garda where we stayed was a different experience to what we were expecting, BUT it wasn't unpleasant in fact far from it...very clean and modern, with helpful staff. Only a few things niggled my husband and i which were: There was...

Stayed here in Sept. 2006 at the embassy rate of 113 euros/night, and at that price, in peak season, it's a great deal. Rome hotels are ridiculously expensive and you don't get much for what you pay for - I got quoted 200 euros/night to stay at a CONVENT, believe it or not. They've re-modeled a lot and the halls...

Reception staff was great...spoke perfect English and were very helpful. Room was clean though it smelled like stale cigarettes. Within walking distance of all major attractions and very close to a metro stop.

My wife & I stayed here for 3 nights. Once we found our way into the hotel we found the reception staff most helpful re-the area & what to see & full info on the hotel. The hotel is still being refurbished, but the parts that we had access to were very clean & modern. Our room was cleaned daily...

Our family of 4 stayed at the Garda for 8 nights and we really enjoyed our stay. The location is great; walking distance to most sites and the neighborhood is fabulous with lots of restaurants and shopping. The staff were always helpful and in some cases, absolutely superb. Very friendly. The rooms are typical of European hotels of this class....

We have just come back from a 2 night stay in the Hotel Garda and felt we had to write this as when I walked into my room I cried! We don't normally complain about things but I would rather people know what to expect and not to have high expectations. The hotel is quite hard to find. The directions...

my wife and i stayed at the garda for 3 nights in october 2005 and would definitely stay there again. the main thing about the hotel is the location, about 5 minutes walk from the spanish steps, and amongst plenty of bars and resteraunts (the pizza place next door was particularly good, and quite cheap as well). the hotel itself...

Went to Rome on a family vacation. My husband and I and our 2 children. Hotel is hard to find. Our driver even had a problem finding this hotel. However, is close to all the sites of Rome. Rooms are very small with only the basics. Staff was a little too nosey for me. The desk clerk even followed us...

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
