The hostel's boss, michael, wait your arrival, gives you the key. He was soo nice I decided to speak with me until late! Smiling and helpful, thanks to him, you can sleep in total confidence. Very good location in Roma's center! Free Wifi. Good money value.

At first, I don't like this place. But staffs were nice. Most of all, this place is close to everywhere, including Termini station and also cheap. So, I can't say it is the best place in Rome but I think it is quite a good place.

I booked this hostel because it was the cheapest one I found. I was quite scared because some comments were quite bad so I was really surprised in a positive way arriving in the Hostel. I booked the Skywalk Hostel but they brought me to the Marian Guesthouse. The people there were very nice and friendly and prepared breakfast and...

Sky Hostel has two locations: one mentioned on the site. This one looked fine. But: we were, as soon as we arrived, sent to another building in the direction of station Termini: "Marian guest house". (This was not mentioned when we booked the hostel.) This hostel was clearly of a very different caliber. Big dorms, too few bathrooms, not clean,...

Worst hostel I have ever stayed in my life. It is a refugee camp! Not a hostel! Staff will not give you the key and you're not allow to back to room between 11:00 to 16:00 because of some stupid cleaning excuses. The location is in a stinky street with lots of trash. Bad wifi quality and awful room, beds....

We booked this hostel because of its good reviews, but its a joke. Half way through our stay we were moved from a skywalk room (which was fine) to a completely different location 10min further from Rome centre. Members of staff (especially Alex) were really creepy towards us, the place was run down, you dont get a key for your...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

“I spend the 3 nights in 6-and 8-bed-rooms and of couse it depends with whom you have to share the room...I was quite exhausted after walking the whole day through Rome so I slept very well. You should bring your sleeping back or warm clothing for the night if you stay there in winter or spring. The mattresses were quite comfortable!”
