We enjoyed our stay at Villa Della Fonte. The room was clean and spacious. The location, very close to restaurants and shops. The staff was beyond helpful and courteous. Breakfast served daily in the terrace was at our time schedule and customized to our preferences. We recommend the hotel and would stay there again if in Rome.

Perfectly situated for access to many of Rome's must visit sites - we were able to walk everywhere from Villa Borghese to the non-Catholic cemetery and everywhere in between! Having been greeted by two coy swans gracing our bed upon arrival we felt immediately welcomed and at ease! The staff/owners were friendly and tried v hard to make our stay...

This is a really nice place. Its location, just off the Piazza Santa Maria, is superb. The piazza is a vibrant area with great places to eat and buskers to watch and listen to. The only drawback is that it is difficult to reach by taxi if you are arriving by train or by air. Our taxi left us at...

Amazing location, incredibly kind staff especially the woman who worked the evening on 10/14 and waiting late for us to check in due to flight delays. Everything about this place is charming, and we were very happy returning here after a long day in Rome for a wonderful relaxing evening on the terrace and a comfortable night sleep. Will definitely...

Absolutely adorable little family owned inn. My boyfriend and I stayed here for a few days during our vacation in Europe. Our flight from Barcelona was delayed by 5 hours and although the reception closes at 5pm they stayed up waiting for us till 4.30am. The rooms are clean and absolutely adorable, they serve cute free breakfast, offer free wifi,...

This hotel was very quaint and welcoming! The staff was very friendly. They were helpful with me making a reservation for a dinner prior to my arrival as well. They also had a car sent to the airport for us upon our arrival. The hotel was clean and had a nice little breakfast. The terrace areas were beautiful. The location...

We were lucky to get a room here since the highly rated Santa Maria next door lost our reservations due to a computer glitch plus all rooms were sold out in Trastevere. Grew points for friendly staff. Looks like family run. Hotel is a little hidden gem, beds very comfortable roof top garden charming. Breakfast decent continental. Area is close...

I spent the better part of the day researching Trastevere hotels for my husband and I and our two friends. We'd all landed in Rome, visited the Amalfi coast by car and were ending our stay in Rome. I was familiar with the area but we were staying only 1 night, and our friends 2 nights. It ended up being...

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.

“We stayed during New Year's so expected a little noise but other than the night before New Years, when there were some passing revellers, it was peaceful. And there was no traffic noise. If you want total peace and quiet you could request one of the rooms that doesn't face on to the street.”
