This hotel is run down, close to the railway station but in a bad area, needs a lot of work, the towels in the bathroom were more like tablecloths, would not recommend. They seem to cater mostly for group tours. After here found a great bnb on the other side of railway station. One night is ok.

Great location other than that this Hotel has nothing going for it. Showers are for kids and cleaning is NOT on the agenda ...take a look at your Bathroom vent ( that's if you can see it for dirt ) Rooms lack personality ,no bedside lamp only two celling lights and one dingy picture on the wall .Bathroom was not...

The hotel seemed decent from the entrance and the hallways, but the room was dingy and the bathroom worse. Tiny, tiny shower that had mold/mildew. There was a bar just down the street that was open late and the noise carried right up to our room. The saving grace were the front desk people who were very nice. Breakfast was...

Just spent two nights at this hotel and found it most convenient and comfortable. It is well situated near the train and bus stations. The staff are very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast is also quite good, apart from the coffee. I think it is nescafe!

We did a 3 night stop in Rome and used the hotel Stella. It is very much a 'get what you pay for hotel'. So you don't pay a lot therefore you don't get a lot. What you do get is a basic but clean room in a hotel that has a 24/7 reception. A basic continental breakfast is available...

We stayed at this hotel through a Thomas cook booking, I wasn't overly impressed to find mould on the bedroom wall, its a good location, staff were okay and breakfast was cake! Haha not that anyone should complain about that but for me cake for breakfast is just strange! I would say it has almost a hostel kind of feel...

Good points, close to Termini, handy supermarket for snacks. Bad points; staff unfriendly, were not allowed in our room on several occasions for different reasons one time refurb. If I pay for a room I expect to be able to use it to freshen up at any time. Older woman quite friendly, young man positively hostile. Key fobs ridiculously heavy...

We stayed here 5 nights before joining a tour group. Arrived late afternoon to a rude reception from a young man with lots of tattoos (no smile or introduction so don't know his name). He handed us the key and told us nothing. I asked about wifi and he literally spat the password at us. The biggest down for us...

We arrived at this hotel full of hopeful optimism. However, sadly disappointed. On arrival we were saddened to see such an awful room. Dull and wretched. Damp patches all over the walls. Felt like running away! Dated and sour smell. It's a place u wouldn't go out of ur way to c! Normally we like to spend time in our...

There was old carpet in our room which was smelly. Not horrible smelly, just not how you would like your room to smell. It was hard for that not to colour the experience during our two nights at the hotel. The room size was decent that bathroom was decent and clean. The view of the neighbourhood out the window and...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
