We stayed at the Hotel Stendhal Oct. 31-Nov. 2, 2011. We got a great rate through our travel agent, and were past peak season, so the value was not bad. Located between the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain, all the historical sites were within pretty easy walking distance. Service is fantastic; the hotel is small, but staff was willing...

I stayed here 2 years ago, come back again this summer. Breakfast: good food, good service. Room: size better than many other 4 stars hotels in europe Service: I didn't ask but (1) free internet (2) advanced to a higher floor room Location: best, central area, within all points of attraction; close to metro. Improvement made. Very good !

We recently stayed at the Hotel Stendahl for seven nights. We were unsure where to stay in Rome and were pleased that we chose this hotel. It is a small "boutique" hotel and easy to miss on the busy Via del Tritone. The rooms are compact (small) but are impeccably clean and well serviced. One might consider the 400 Euros...

Our last hotel in Rome for one night was not good value. A 4 star, we paid $396aus. The room was nicely decorated but so tiny there was not enough room for both cases. The bathroom was also tiny and not private enough for using the toilet with your partner in the room so close, if you know what i...

Pros: central location, very clean, well decorated, secure, quaint lobby with small lounge, bar, internet, printer Cons: can be loud, staff is a bit uptight, regular rooms are small even by Rome's standards

We stayed four nights in the Stendhal Hotel and it was a very pleasant experience. The staff were very professional, attentive and helpful. The room spacious, comfortable and nicely decorated. The bed was extremely comfortable. The room overlooked the Via Tritone and was exceptionally quiet. All sights were easily accessible on foot. We intend to return to this hotel in...

This hotel is really nice. It's beautifully decorated & very clean. The staff was accommodating & for the most part very pleasant! The heating/cooling system worked very well. Our room was right on the street which is very busy, so if you're a light sleeper you won't do well if you leave the window open at night, but with it...

I stayed at the Stendhal Hotel late October 2010 for 5 days. The hotel is absolutely beautiful! It has a perfect mixture of new and old furnishings which truly brings you into the Italian spirit. The room was pretty small, and our view (at the back of the hotel) was not the best, however we did not spend a huge...

We spent two nights there just before we departed Italy. It was a great place to unwind. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful in getting us to some great eating places all within walking distance of our hotel. The room was clean and fair sized it was a superior as to their standard which was smaller. Marco at...

Excellent Hotel. Helpful and friendly staff with much better English than our Italian. We we glad to have chosen the "Superior" room with it's extra space for our 4 night stay after checking out other reviewers beforehand. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom, clean with a very good shower. A more than adequate breakfast was provided to set...

Staying in Colonna

Neighbourhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very centre of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping centre, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
