I thought that this hotel was a little bit of paradise in the chaos of Rome. The service level was very high, they could answer any and all questions I had. The staff was very friendly, entertaining, and spoke really good English. The location was great. The rooms were clean and stylish. They had free wireless internet, and even a...

Stayed at both the Bernini Bristol and Ottocento during this visit. They are located just a block apart. This hotel was far better in every way than the "5 STAR" Bernini. My rooms (2 of them) at the Bernini had BLACK MOLD growing on the bath door frame and under the carpet.(see photos in my Bernini review)The rooms at the...

I am very sorry to say I was disapointed with this hotel. We were in Rome last year and stayed in Hotel Elide which was ok and gets very bad reviews on Tripadvisor so I put a lot of thought into our hotel this year as we were in Rome for three days for a wedding. I really could not...

This was our third stay at the Ottocento and, once again, it met all of our expectations. A great location, very friendly and professional staff, nice furnishings/decoration, fantastic shower (a rarity in Italian hotels I'm discovering!), etc. etc. I cannot fault this hotel....it is simply excellent! Our "find" in Rome this time was "Hotel Eden" which is quite close to...

We just got back from Rome and stayed at the Ottocento for three nights. This was our first trip to Rome and were a bit intimidated by the city. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and patient with our numerous questions, not once did they hesitate to give us directions, suggestions for restaurants, etc. The location was absolutely...

We just returned from a stay in Rome at the Albergo Ottocento. I spent much time reading reviews as was booking for us and our toddler as well as my husbands parents. We were impressed with the room decor and particularly the bathrooms. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. They bent over backwards to accommodate our daughter. Being with...

I booked this hotel after reading the earlier reviews, and went with some trepidation after reading a few of the latter ones! However, I was not disappointed. The hotel is just off the Via Sistina a bustling area 1 min from Piazza Barberini and Via Veneto,, 5 mins to Trevi and Spanish Steps, about 20 mins to Colosseum. You can...

We stayed at this beautiful little hotel one night in Rome following a cruise. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was more than adequate. Our room was nice, though small; the bathroom is wonderfully appointed. Unfortunately, our room faced the street and the noise was apparent as soon as we checked in. We asked to be moved to...

stayed there april 2007 for four days with my 13yr old son. room was clean, very small, first floor, windows overlooking street, mildly loud, but not really disturbing. bed OK. bathroom very definitely above average, jacuzzi-tub working fine, shower too. in fact, the bathroom was the only feature of this hotel winning four stars. friendliness of reception and waiters gets...

The Albergo Ottocento is a small hotel located near Barberini Square. Personnel at the front desk are friendly and helpful from marking destinations on a map to arranging dinner reservations. The room was quite large based on European standards. A jetted tub was furnished in the attractive tiled bathroom. The provided breakfast was served in the restaurant attached to the...

Staying in Colonna

Neighbourhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very centre of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping centre, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
