Just one night on return from cruise. Hotel had everything we wanted. I requested a balcony and they were very accommodating. Lovely big room. Décor could do with being a bit more modern though not important. Very clean. Mini bar very useful and cheap. Breakfast very good. We walked to the underground and were at the Colosseum in less than...

Well located with easy access to transport links. Not very impressive from the outside, my heart sank a bit at first but the hotel itself is great. Clean and well maintained. The room ( a family room so 4 of us in it) was spacious , very comfortable, clean and well-presented. Breakfasts were very good, plenty of choice. The local...

Stayed here overnight only. We initially got a room with the facilities not working properly but they were able to immediately transfer us to another room. The breakfast at the rooftop area was quite good. If you don't mind being away from the city center, I think this hotel would be good enough. It was not that far from the...

Extremely well priced. Only 3 stops on the metro from termi station. Staff pleasant and helpful. Rooms adequate size, v clean, supplied with towels and complimentary toiletries. Breakfast basic but perfect. Nice little Irish bar across the road for a night cap! Would definitely stay here again

The location of this hotel is ideal for those who want to be out of the centre of Rome, but with easy access to the main tourist sites. The nearest Metro Station, 'Bologna' is a 10 minute walk from the hotel, and from there it is 3 stops to Termini Station. The hotel itself is very welcoming, and the staff...

This hotel is pretty centrally located in Rome, and you can get to most sights by metro (nearest station 500 m away), or bus (stop just across the street). The area has many shops and restaurants by itself. The rooms were clean, well furnished and had all one could need. Service was very quick.

It's an average quality budget hotel and good for short stays. Hotel's location is convenient. It's 10-min walking distance from Bologna metro station and 10-min metro ride away from the city center. Hotel staff was nice and friendly. The room was decent size and clean; beds and bathroom were good for an average hotel. However, there were no hand soap...

We stayed in this hotel for a long weekend at the end of August and found it to be a fairly good base from which to explore Rome, without paying a fortune. It's a 10/15 minute walk from the nearest metro stop (uphill from the hotel, but it's nice that it's downhill coming back!) and has a small supermarket opposite....

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo may look all street with its pulse in urban art and street food, but don’t be fooled. This gritty student neighbourhood immediately east of Termini train station is on the avant-garde rise. Art galleries, curated mural projects by artists like Rome’s favorite Alice, charming cafes, and boutique restaurants are slowly infiltrating the streets of San Lorenzo with counter-culture chic. Don’t worry, San Lorenzo still retains its local vibe with weekend festivals and demonstrations, and is always a hub for Rome’s university student scene.
