Travelling with elderly parents. We were literally scolded when we inquired if the room had a kettle. The staff at the reception said in a very demeaning tone - 'this is not a 5 star hotel'. I don't think there was a need for such a strong response to a simple question. Internet connectivity is poor and costs 5 Euros....

Its close to the Termini station and republica subway stop. Our room was clean but small. Rooms were reasonably priced. TV is small, Breakfast is included but don't expect much. They have a non-working internet and they charge for 5euro. When I complained they returned my money but the 50 year old male receptionist ( maybe the owner) had a...

I liked Corona's smaller size compared to nearby hotels. Service is acceptable without exception. Just steps to the opera house and a short walk to Termini. I noted that housekeeping was coming later in the PM than some may expect.

We stayed 5 days in this hotel. It was clean and the staff was helpful. There was not free wifi and the free breakfast was quite underwhelming. They only had rolls, lunch meat, and cheese available. The bathroom was of decent size, but the shower took at least 10 minutes to get warm. And good luck adjusting the water temperature...

The hotel is older but clean and is well located to all the major attractions and many restaurants. Metro very close by as well. I had a single room which only just fits a single bed, which was comfortable, but with very little room for anything else. A friend had a double room which is a better size. I had...

Family owned and operated hotel with local charm. Owners/operators are with you 24/7 and wish for your stay to be an experience. Low key boutique type hotel in the center of things but just off the beaten path. Breakfast was included and wonderful. Rooms were typially European and included ones needs for comfort.

The room was nice and comfortable and the breakfast was greet and the girls that took care of the breakfast room were wonderful. Transportation was great. Close by the train station and buses and metro.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
