Not a really bad experience but no value for what you pay. Arrived and had reserved a 3 bed room but they had only prepared a 2 bed. So pulled a third from underneath. The room was not for 3 people so it was very crammed. Also washing machine was broken and air conditioning was broken in 33 degrees. No...

Just to explain to you, I had to stay in another hotel for a night to have a good shower. If you care about cleanliness, this is definitely not the place for you. We booked 2 rooms through booking.com. The pictures on the site had nothing to do with the apartment we got. The apartment stinks of badly washed floors....

Found this B&B on booking.com the instructions were quite helpful but it took us 1 and half hours to find instead on 33 mins which was suggested. The lady that opened the door made us feel welcome and comfortable and she was very nice and gave us instructions etc. she said we could use th e kitchen to cook. I...

We stayed here for a week while visiting Rome. It is about a half hour walking distance to the Colosseum but there is a tram stop at the end of the street. Small, clean room with private bathroom. The couple that showed us the apartment were very friendly. The shower did not work and was fixed that day. There is...

I really liked staying here. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Can be a little tricky to find at first. Breakfast is cakes and croissants etc, and u can help urself to tea and coffee when ever you want. It's in a good area but not close to the centre of town. Be prepared to walk or get transport....

Massimo seems to manage a number of converted residential apartments. We like the San Giovanni area so were not too put out being moved on arrival. Others may not be so obliging or gracious. Facilities in the Felice Rooms (where we ended up staying) were just adequate but not good enough to self cater. Wifi was good

I see there are mixed reviews for this place, and I can understand why! This is neither a bed and breakfast, nor a hotel, but a man who owns a series of apartments in different buildings and tries to squeeze as many people as possible into each one. On the surface he is friendly and amenable, but actually he is...

We booked a room via Laterooms at this place. Apparently they didn't have a room available because of some plumbing issue but didn't inform us. When we got there and called the owner to let us in, he just kept saying he'd give us a room the next day and when I said that didn't work, he simply shouted and...

We stayed 5 nights at the T&V House. It is a cheap B&B which does not provide much comfort. Nevertheless, for those who just want an acceptable place to stay, it is perfect. It is a little bit hard to find and you may have to call the owner, because there might be nobody there. Breakfast was horrible. Besides: The...

We booked our room through Cross-Pollinate.com expecting the accommodation to match the pictures we saw, however the owner has a number of apartments and we were put in a different not as nice looking one. In our booking we had advised an estimated arrival time of 8 pm but ended up in Rome early and advised the owner about 20...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
