Stayed here 3 nights post cruise from 2 to 5 Nov. I wasn't expecting much and I chose this hotel only because of its proximity to Rome Termini_ just right across the street. The lobby was not very impressive but thank goodness, it has two working elevators. The room, although with dark colour decor was surprisingly tasteful with beautiful granite...

We stayed at the Hotel Madison for three nights. First time in Rome. It was a great location right across the street from the main train station and subway stop. Only two subway lines in Rome, and this is where they interconnect, so you can't get more convenient. The room was deluxe in my opinion, nice fixtures, great bed, nice...

Well situated hotel next to the railway station. We had a family room with four beds and breakfast included at a reasonable price for a long weekend. Exactly what we needed. We also got good advice on a nearby restaurant for evening dinner, just around the corner.

Have stayed here several times. Last time October 2-8. Was worried by some recent bad reviews but all was great for us. Had a nice room on the sixth floor. There have been some upgrades since last visit. Cleaner, fresher. Breakfast was great with lots of variety. And the location is still the best being right across the street from...

Difficult to give a really in-depth review as i arrived late and left fairly early the next day. The check in and out procedure was fast and efficient, its located across from the train station making it ideal for my purpose. The room was standard hotel fare, nothing special for the price but clean and reasonably comfortable although the lighting...

I have read some of the reviews of the hotel and didn't expect a lot. However, I really liked the place. The room was spacious and clean. The lining was really clean, there was set of three towels for each of us. The breakfast was good too. The loveliest thing is that they make expresso or cappuccino (it's not from...

This hotel is in a very good location, just next to Termini station. Although the Termini area is a bit dangerous in the evening, especially if you are alone. Hotel was nice and clean, room was ok. Breakfast was also very good. Hotel staff was friendly and they made you feel welcome.

We stayed in Hotel Madison for four nights in September. Pros: The best location near the Roma Termini Station; very good breakfast. Cons: Poor accommodation - no good views. Mostly gloomy and old. Overall, we'd give it Average.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
