My recent visit to Rome I stayed at The Loft. Mabel (the owner) texted me in the morning to tell me my room was ready. Which I thought was a nice touch. On arrival I was shown to my room, it was spacious very clean and had a balcony. The bathroom was well equipped and very clean. The location was...

The location was great, close to the termini; aprox. 10 min. walking. So your close to public transportation and hop-on-hop-off-busses. The lift is very tiny. You have the choice, either you sent you baggage or yourself. We had room no.3 with a view over the backyard but silent. Our room was more or less an appartement without out a kitchen....

We booked this knowing it wasn't a hotel. More like a bed and breakfast. It was quaint. Mabel was great. Very happy to help although a little hard to get hold of and I think we woke her to check out so communication isn't always 100% understood. But it was very close to the train station which made it easy...

I would definitely agree with previous reviews. This is not an hotel so do not expect a 24 h reception service but the room we were in was fine and clean but, more important, the B&B is close to the Roman main attractions, you can use the very close Termini metro station to reach the Colosseum (second stop) if you...

Couldn't fault it. Room was lovely and spacious with private bathroom and plenty of towels. Mini fridge in room which was ideal for drinks etc and private balcony was lovely. Mabel was lovely and friendly making our stay extra special, thanks for the prosecco! Biggest bonus was the location extremely close to termini station and metro. I would definitely stay...

This was a good b&b for the price with restaurants all along the road and great WiFi. Breakfast is basic but more than enough to get you going and a decent enough selection. The lady who runs it is very friendly and helpful which is always nice when you are visiting somewhere for the first time and need a little...

Except for business trips, I had never stayed in the same hotel/B&B for four nights, until this one. It was a right choice. The location is excellent, close to the Termini as well as many restaurants and stores. We felt safe in the area. Many attractions are within walking distance, but it is equally convenient to take the public transportation...

This place is in the best Location! It is 3 minutes walk from the Central station, ( if you walk in the right direction which we did not!) The staff was incredibly sweet and helpful and were the best for service. Its really is lovely! It is quaint , charming and eccentrically Italian being in a quirky lift that was...

We stayed here for a week during our first visit to Rome. The lady who runs the Loft (Mabel) is very friendly and professional. There is a real 'home' feel to the Loft. It is very close to Termini and underground stations. There is lots of lovely restaurants close by and this location is an excellent base for a good...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
