Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The best part of our stay was the staff. Everyone from the counter staff to the breakfast staff were extremely pleasant and welcoming. The breakfast buffet was great. The hotel's location was central to the Coliseum, the Steps, the fountain, the train station, hop on/off buses. The only negative factor was the room. The room (507) was shabby. The floor was stained. The room was small and felt congested. The bathroom is in serious need of renovation. The sink and tub fixtures were old. Calking around the tube amateur. The tub was old and very hard to use. I expected more from a $300.00 a night hotel, even in Rome. I'm not sure if booking the room through Hotels.com resulted in giving us a below standard room?

Overall a good experience but not without its moments !

We had 4 rooms booked but had great difficulty getting the hotel reception to understand who was coming and going and when! Took many many emails. Then, having secured the booking with a credit card they demanded payment two days before travel without warning and threatened to cancel rooms!

I would say the Junior Suites are not worth the extra money. We eventually managed to change our room (thanks Sara) as we were not happy. No window in bedroom, no shower eg. Our new de-luxe room was brilliant, although some maintenance required in the bathroom !

Roof top bar has great potential, but evening service is so slow. Short staffed. Breakfast average but great views. They own a restaurant (Oliva) that they recommend, but its pretty average given other options locally. Hotel has a great location and all staff generally very helpful.

Hotel is ideally located between tourist spots and main train station. Room was quirky, predominately red theme that took some time to get used too ( not sure if the red theme was the same for all rooms). We had a Juliet balcony overlooking the main street, but was never noisey. Staff were friendly and helpful. The best thing was the rooftop restaurant, magnificent in the morning plus the hotel provided a very good choice of breakfast choices

Hotel itself looked nice and great location. There was just issue after issue in the room, we paid for a junior suite, the room had a bath with a shower over it, would of been nice to relax and unwind in a nice bath but there was no plug, I asked reception staff everyday for the 3 nights we were there and we still ended up leaving without a plug given to us. The shower had no clip for it to stay above you, so you literally had to just hold the shower hose on you while standing in the bath, the shower curtain didn’t fit all around the bath properly which meant the floor got flooded, the reception staff brought towels to mop the wet floor, she said she would sort a plug for the bath and also her maintenance to fit a proper shower curtain and also there should be a clip for shower to stay over your head, which again she promised to sort.. the radiator in bathroom didn’t work so it was freezing, which again I notified reception 5 times and still wasn’t sorted by the time we left. The staff were nice, apologised etc but just didn’t seem to be able to sort anything. We had 3 nights away and I couldn’t wash my hair, literally a quick body wash holding a shower hose on me , worried to not spray over the bath and soak the floor. The rooms should of come with bathrobes, which would of been great as the bathroom
Was so cold , but nope no robes and reception couldn’t sort any. The only plus side of things was we had a late flight home, and the hotel reception let us have a 4 pm check out due to the issues, really grateful for that but couldn’t wait to get home!

It was not our first visit to Rome, we booked La Griffe Hotel Roma for the first time because of the location, and the experience was unpleasantly disappointing. The room charge, except for the city tax, was withdrawn from the banking card in full a couple of days preceding our arrival. La Griffe Hotel Roma's building and the room obviously knew better times. The room entrance door was not closing without applying force. No complimentary water in the room. No amenities in the room and the bathroom,  while La Griffe Hotel Roma is positioned as a 4-star one. The phone line was out of order during the entire 5 days of our stay, so whenever we needed to communicate with the hotel's reception, we had to go downstairs. Our room was on the 8th floor, with the window towards via Nazionale. During the day the sun was heating the room and the single layer of nylon curtain was simply not enough. Given that the air conditioning system was working extremely poorly and with a noise, our stay in the room at any moment of the day or night was not comfortable at all. The hotel's technicians several times attempted to fix the AC after our complaints, with no luck. The daytime reception staff was not taking care on how to resolve the complaints. The waiters at the rooftop bar (9th floor) were unattentive and non-responsive. Overall, this was the worst experience from La Griffe Hotel Roma for 350 Euro per night.

I wish I had read more reviews about this hotel!
We had no airconditioning in 3 of the 4 rooms booked and the one that was was barely effective. We politely made the service staff aware but were told it was working because the fan was circulating hot air! We had to buy floor fans to get some relief from the summer heat. When we perused the issue the staff were rude and said technicians will look at it. The fridges were also not working, obviously defrosted with water at the bottom. There was no communication with us about resolving the problems. When we asked we were told “of course it is hot it is summer”. Now reading other reviews I can see this has been a problem for months.
The wifi is poor, we opted to use our own data at a cost to us.
The breakfast selection was poor. There is no room service, no restaurant and no bottled water to provide any relief or comfort.
One of the rooms had a door that had to be forced to shut. This was manageable until the internal door frame fell and hit my son on the shoulders and back as he exited the bathroom. The cleaner showed concern but the reception staff showed none, just said they would have someone fix it.
I understand Rome is an old city and the buildings and facilities are old BUT all other buildings we visited had functioning air conditioning, so it is possible to rectify if the matter was taken seriously.
This hotel ruined this part of our vacation. A place we were excited to finished our trip to Italy on!

There was Nothing good about this hotel! Well, yes, the location. When we arrived to the hotel the room they showed us had an old shower that was no bigger than the shower you find in a boat. The shower was fealthy and we encountered a big bug right next to the bed. Please see the attached pictures. We complained to the front desk and they apologized and said they were sorry and they would let the cleaning ladies know.
The hotel needs a major reform. Ceilings cracked, paint falling off and the flooring on the hallways to the rooms dirty and unfinished.
This is definitely not a 4 star hotel. Be advised. I’m not sure why booking.com classifies it as a 4 star one because I would not even give it two stars.

The only positive note about this hotel is the staff. Always smiling and helping to accommodate your requests. Location is great. Rooms in the front of the hotel are extremely noisy.
I found it also very overpriced. Corridors are left with paint all over rooms are not maintained at standard.
Definitely not going back.

We stayed two nights in May, 2023. Michele and Patricio were very helpful at the front desk. They always greeted us with a smile and they were both very helpful with restaurants and answered all of our questions. Our room was clean and the roof top bar was great for breakfast, the staff was very helpful

This hotel is so chic. The staff are so friendly that me and my friends felt so welcome.
The room is small but there’s a lot of amenities with it.
Breakfast is so good which makes you want to have a taste of everything.
It is near the metro train and the Termini station.
