Charming place. I'd definitely stay there again. Best things about the Residenza delle Arti: location (very near the Tiber River and within walking distance of many of the famous sites of Rome), price (less than it would cost per night for a room in an ordinary hotel along a US interstate highway), room quality (spacious and clean), staff friendliness and...

Really enjoyed my stay. Great location and the beautiful lady who made our breakfast each morning was a delight. The room was clean and spacious. One issue: the radiator in our room was quite noisy and breakfast is in the hallway outside all of the rooms (so noisy if you are trying to sleep). I would definitely recommend this place.

Very nice and extremely serviceminded staff! The room were cosy and comfortable and served its purpose - a place to relax a bit before going back out. A bit noisy (happy people in the streets) bur that goes with the territory -great location!!!

We stayed at this B+B and loved being so close to everything. Loved the location, the rooms, the continental breakfast and looking out the window at the coming and going in Trastevere. The shutters took care of the street noise during the night. I would definitely return.

And this is our pleasure for our guests to come back. Perhaps with the children of their children, with new friends or with those of a lifetime. And it does not matter that Trastevere is noisy, it is the joy of a carefree holiday. Dionisio Barbiero

Great location in Trastevere, where all the best restaurants and bars are. Very clean. Romantic interior. Breakfast was quite simple, but overall it was very good value for money. The best part were the two ladies working there, who had a very friendly, hospitable attitude that made us feel very comfortable. Can't imagine a better place to stay during a...

Tucked away behind a big wooden door on the 2nd floor is this beautiful boutique hotel that is tastefully decorated with collectables. The host Fiorella is so welcoming, and shared local and recommended information to assist in making our visit a memorable one. The extra touches like breakfast in bed if wanted and the warmth and friendliness shown has made...

Traveling in Rome in December allowed us to get this room at a great deal. Our hostess was very friendly and gracious and upgraded us to a suite just because she was so nice! The location is unbeatable - we visited most of the need-to-see destinations in Rome by foot and spent nights exploring Trastevere's busy dining scene. Our hostess...

I loved that I didn't feel like a tourist and I felt like I was coming home to my own flat in Rome. Everything was perfect. Fiorella, the host who welcomed me, was very pleasant and provided lots of useful information about the area and how to get around. In the morning a very cheerful and smiling Ursula brought a...

Residenza was a lovely base for my friend and I when we had a weekend exploring Rome. Close enough to everything without being in the really touristy centre, Trestevere has a lovely bit of life to it and Residenza is close enough to walk to everything (if you like walking, like we do!) The accommodation was really beautiful and modern...

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
You will never forget Rome's allure once you see the enchanting view from the Residenza delle Arti. The Residenza delle Arti suites are located in Piazza Sidney Sonnino (near Viale Trastevere) on the second floor of an elegant building with an elevator, built at the beginning of the 20th century. From this great location you can relax and enjoy a fascinating view of life in Trastevere, a neighbourhood that today is all that remains of medieval Rome. The Residenza delle Arti is gracefully encircled by the remains of medieval Rome. Two sites that stand out are Dante Alighieri's house on Via della Lungaretta and the Church of San Crisogono. From these places, through the green leaves of the plane trees, you can admire the busy and unique life of epicurean Rome. hall Residenza delle Arti offers large and luxurious rooms with beautiful bathrooms, equipped with all modern comforts: individual air conditioning and heating in the room, LED TVs with free satellite channels, Wi-Fi Internet connections free in your room, and a direct telephone line with its own individual number. All of the rooms are stylishly furnished with Art Deco hardwood furniture, hand-made in accordance with that period's finest traditions. Espresso and cappuccino are offered for free every morning. It is easy to reach the main attractions of the Eternal City by foot from Residenza delle Arti, attractions such as Gianicolo, Santa Maria in Trastevere, the Botanic Gardens, the Pantheon, 1000 metres away (a 15 min walk), Piazza Venezia, 1300 m (20 min), the Imperial Forums 2.0 km (25 min), the Coliseum 2.0km (25 min), Piazza Navona 1000 m (15 min), the Fontana di Trevi 1.8 km (23 min), as well as the places that symbolize today's dolce vita and shopping, Campo dei Fiori, 700 m (13 min), Via del Corso 1.8 km (23 min), and Piazza di Spagna 2.2 km (30 min). ... more   less
