Small-scale hotel in the middle of town at walking distance from all historical monuments and the Vatican and in the middle of the shopping area. Ideal location. Friendly lady-owner and personnel. Only minor point: the breakfast should have a wider choice. Nevertheless: warmly recommended. Ann, Flanders, Belgium

Like many European hotels the rooms are small but it was very clean and the location is fabulous. It was very reasonably priced for downtown Rome and we could walk everywhere. There is a wonderful Piazza just a few steps away where you could enjoy a meal and people watch and the Colosseum and Forum were less than 20 minutes...

We were so pleased we stayed at this charming hotel for 5 nights when we visited Rome. The hotel is located opposite the Borghese Palace in a quiet area and is on the second and third floors of a very grand old building. The hotel is walking distance to many of the popular tourist sights in Rome yet it is...

This is a charming, affordable hotel with a great location. The room we had was not large, but it was clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was typical for Italian hotels, but everything was fresh and the coffee was excellent. The staff was the best part of this property. The owner introduced herself and her and her staff were very...

The good: Location - we could see the Spanish Steps from the square in front of the hotel; the owner and staff - everyone was really friendly and helpful; the map - they went to the bother of printing their own map which was much better than most. OK: The beds were OK, a little hard for us, but not...

This hotel is well located to visit all the main sights in Rome. It is in a great area very near some high-end shops, lovely little piazzas and many restaurants to choose from. It has a lot of character, perhaps was a villa at one time. The room we had was a good size with a nice bathroom. Every person...

This was the worst hotel experience in my life. So stay here at your own risk. If you care about personal integrity, and if you want professional service in case of trouble, this is not your kind of hotel. I stayed here for five days. When I came back to my room the second day, my things had been moved...

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighbourhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighbourhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (21:00), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
