We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Madrid, though would consider it an average hotel. The location is great, near the Spanish Steps and a metro. The breakfast is good. The room itself was average. We have no complaints about the room, but it was nothing exceptional as well. Overall, it was average.

Clean and comfortable rooms. Friendly staff. Great Location. Surrounded by restaurants, pizzarias, etc. so can get a little noisy late on. But after a day's sightseeing and a few beers it wasn't a problem. Also, walk everywhere - crossing the road is one of Rome's unheralded experiences.

Super friendly staff. When arriving I had an issue with my credit card (couldn't draw money from the atm). The guy at the reception just paid out of his own pocket. When getting over the issue, I came to him with cash, but he insisted that I enjoy my stay and pay upon departing. This is an example for outstanding...

Hotel Madrid is quite small and its interior is a bit outdated, but it is excellently located in a quiet street between the Corso and the Spanish stairs. We were lucky and got a 3 bed room on the top floor, right next to the roof terrace. Very cosy, and the views from the terrace are amazing. No doubt we...

This is a gem of a place. Apart from being within walking distance of most major Roman sights, Hotel Madrid has relatively large rooms and bathrooms (for Rome). The hotel is clean and crisp, and the staff is super friendly and helpful. The piece de resistance is the roof garden: a good breakfast buffet (including eggs, bacon, cheeses, and yoghurts)...

Staying in Colonna

Neighbourhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very centre of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping centre, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
