My boyfriend and I had an adorable room overlooking the Trevi Fountain; the view was almost 'too good to be true'. We think this hotel is perfect for travellers in search of authentic Italian charm.

My husband and I have just returned from 3 nights in Rome where we stayed at the lovely Hotel Fontana. I would definitely recommend room 204 - ok, so no view of the Trevi Fountain but this means you get a good night's sleep and much appreciated air con. The breathtaking view from the breakfast room, which is intimate, light...

I was very disappointed in the Hotel Fontana. Maybe I was expecting more but apart from the view of the Trevi which is outstanding, the Hotel itself is definitely not a 4 star. My husband and I stayed in room 109 which was very very small. I booked this hotel about 8 months prior and felt that for the money...

This hotel is quaint and old-style, a welcome relief to chain hotels and makes you feel like you are in Rome not a Travelodge! However the experience will depend much on which room you get - we booked a 'deluxe' room and were offered a top floor box (I think this is described as the prison cell in some other...

I was planning on spending a night in Rome with my wife en-route to somewhere else and we decided to book at the Hotel Fontana at the Trevi Fountain. The website offers no phone number, just an email address. I found the number via Italy's Yellow Pages and rang - was told by an uninterested staff member the hotel only...

We visited Rome for three nights over the extremely busy Easter period. The first thing to say would be whatever you do, DO NOT get a taxi to this hotel - it is situated in a pedestrian area and it took forever to get through the crowds. The taxi cost us a whopping 100 euros, but on the way back...

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights at the end of Feb 07 and we couldnt have asked for anything more! We stayed in room 106 and it directly over looked the Trevi Fountain. Never had a view so spectacular from a hotel window - our first words were wow! The hotel is really well located with a metro...

I stayed in this little but very well located hotel with a room on the 2nd floor overlooking the Trevi Fountain-awesome ! The room was perfectly pleasant albeit a tad bijou, but what do you expect for the price and location [210euros/night], On the top [5th] floor is the breakfast room with the most amazing view of the fountain- it...

I just cannot see why this hotel continues to get such good reviews. When we arrived our tiny room was not ready, the drains stank and the people on the front desk were disinterested. We moved to a different room which was at least clean. The bed was comfortable but the room was too small to relax in. Breakfast was...

The Fontana doesn't look like much from the outside but don't let that put you off. The hotel and rooms may be small (space is a premium in cities like Rome) but the place is spotless and the staff are friendly and helpful (we got very detailed instructions on where to buy tickets for football and then find the Stadio...

Staying in Trevi

Neighbourhood Profile
Trevi
A non-stop photo and souvenir opportunity, Trevi is all about action. From early morning through the wee hours, the piazza surrounding Trevi Fountain hosts a never-ending flow of tourists hoping to make a wish or take a selfie. Clever restaurants, charming gelaterias, uncanny bars, kitsch shops, and a range of hotels make up the local landscape. Beneath the bustle are the remains of an ancient neighbourhood that you can visit by heading over to a repertoire cinema and asking for a peek underground. There is something for everyone, but if peace and quiet are what you seek, plan to visit in the early morning hours.
