This was an excellent hotel, great location, knowledgeable and pleasant staff, and a wonderful deal. We were very happy with the rooms which were decorated nicely and clean. The hotel was very conveniently located. The staff went out of their way to give us advice and make sure our stay was a nice experience. I recommend this hotel highly.

Very nice rooms! Great bathroom, comfortable enough bed, good closet space. The location can't be beat! Breakfast is sparse-- mostly just croissants and coffee from a machine... but reasonable, I suppose. It is located right off Via Nazionale (close to Piazza Republica) and was a great base to see Rome. I would definitely stay here again. Christmas photos of Rick...

Our impressions of the hotel were mixed, so I'll start with the good: The Location is EXCELLENT. It's on a side street from Via Nazionale, so the place is both quiet and very accessible both by bus (from Via Nazionale, Piazza della Republica and Termini) and metro (Piazza della Republica and Termini). It's a 10 minute walk from the central...

Great location within 10 mimute walk of Termini, Spanish steps, and Trevi fountain. All other sights easily accessible by metro system. Hotel basic, yet good standard for 2 star, rooms are clean and comfortable. Pick up a map from reception and they will try and answer any questions about the local area you have. I would suggest you use the...

Returning to Rome for the 1st time in 32 years I chose to stay in this hotel because of the good reviews left by others and the comparitively realistic cost when compared to most others in Rome. We were not disappointed with the hotel. The 'unique lift' is certainly that and the friendliness of the reception staff is also something...

I was very pleased with this hotel for the price. We were in a good central location, the place was kept immaculately clean and the hotel staff were so helpful and friendly. Especially Luccia, as another reviewer mentioned below (what a cutie too!). Right down the street is an awesome cafe and a fabulous pizza/pasta joint called "Punto e Virgola"....

At breakfast, there's a self-serve machine that makes miserable cappachino. The elevator up was a bit frightening. We were misled about the location when we booked it; not as close to Termini as advertised. Our window opened up onto a street with constant traffic. Internet access is only available through a computer in the lobby, but they did let me...

Hotel Nardizzi was great, especially, Lucca, one of the front desk staff. It was a great location, the staff spoke good English and were very helpful in going over the map of Rome and pointing out places to see and where to eat. The only down sides were if you didn't take a shower before 8 Am, you got very...

We arrived at the hotel Nardizzi before 8AM on a Sunday morning. Our train came in early and we were hoping to drop our bags at the hotel until we could check in at 3 or so. The gentleman at the desk not only stored our bags for us but also invited us for a complimentary breakfast. He then went...

We spent 3 nights and booked directly through their website. They had a great deal called "overbooking" and we paid half the normal price. We highly recommend this deal offered during high season only. They guarantee some central accomodations at one of their partner hotels if the Nardizzi is full at the time. We were a little skeptical of this...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
