We returned a second time, three months later, to this hotel for which we had already given an excellent review. We can only confirm what has already been expressed: strategic and quiet location near Campo di Fiori, soundproofed rooms equipped with every comfort, rich breakfast with excellent products (some coming from the renowned Forno Roscioli, in front of the hotel). An added value is the professionalism, kindness and helpfulness of all the staff, reception, breakfast and room attendants. In short, a highly recommended hotel, to which we plan to return soon.

13 of us stayed here for 3 nights. When we arrived some of the rooms were made up as doubles but Mikela immediately got the beds remade into single beds and checked us all in quickly. She was really helpful over the weekend. Before we travelled I contacted the hotel by email and phone several times as the number of friends travelling changed a few times so I had to change rooms from triples to twin and so on. Each time I spoke to staff or emailed there was never a problem and they were so helpful. Everyone was happy with the location of the hotel, the breakfast was really good and Milly in the breakfast room kept us supplied with great coffee every morning. The rooms are spotless.

Good location. Excellent breakfast! Extremely comfortable bed and room. Right next to Anticio Forno. The staff were very kind and helpful meeting all our need, including providing a fan and clothes steamer for our room and the ability to arrange an ethical taxi for transportation as needed. The rooftop bar/restaurant was very good.

Located in a pleasant area, this hotel is a real gem. The welcome is warm and the staff is efficient. In a few minutes we had our room, information regarding lunches and WIFI (free and which works very well) and the small restaurant at the "roft top". The rooms are a good size, well appointed, very clean, comfortable and surprisingly very quiet considering that the hotel is located in a busy area. The lunch area is pleasant, the staff listens to customers, the buffet is quite elaborate and the food is fresh and well presented. We appreciated the help that the people at reception gave us, whether it was finding products, restaurant suggestions or organizing transfers to the airport... we even got a coffee/croissant from Riscoli at 5:30 a.m. on the morning of our departure. We highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed for 5 days - hotel says three starts but it should be 4 - staff maybe the most courtious and helpful I have experienced in many years. They are the number one asset to this hotel. We stayed in the Annex which was absolutely spotless and cleaned every day to the highest standard. Breakfast was buffett with fresh breads, fruit etc - scambled eggs and bacon - coffee or tea served at your table - again maybe best coffee while in Rome. Hotel in central to almost everything (street cobbles are crazy - take sensible walking or hiking boots shoes seriously) Best value - THANK YOU

If you want to discover Rome, this is the Top hotel. It is central, everything is easily reachable on foot and nearby bus/tram connections work perfectly.
The hotel is very clean and with attention to detail, the reception is kind and helpful. The rooms are beautiful and well-kept, the breakfast buffet is a spectacle, you find everything: from the typical sweet to the savory. The Skylounge, where we had an aperitif, is a spectacle: above the rooftops of Rome... The staff is friendly and attentive. You can see that the owners understand something and give importance to customers.
I will return to the eternal city and certainly to this hotel, which truly deserves 5 stars.
Thank you for your hospitality and for making our stay even more special!

Travelling as a family of 7, we stayed in two townhouses attached to the hotel. Both were immaculately clean, modern, and lovely with wonderful bathrooms. The kitchens included all amenities needed. Each townhouse was also large enough that we had room to relax in when we needed to take a break from sightseeing. We had breakfast in the hotel’s dining room each morning, and the selections were varied and plentiful including fruits, yogurts, sweets, cheeses, cold meats, eggs and bacon. Staff was very friendly and always helpful. The AC was fantastic and much appreciated in August. The location was ideal, close to many wonderful restaurants and coffee shops, the campo di fiori market, walking distance to most sights, and surprisingly easy walking distance to Trastevere. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Hotels in central Italy tend to be boutique style located in older buildings but full of charm, with an abundance of local flavor and atmosphere. In a tight alley as I would call it, but accessible by vehicles, Hotel Smeraldo was a visitors delight for its location to many of the top visitor attractions that I walked to, and top notch customer service. Around pizzarias, pastry shops, local shopping, and reasonably close to the top attractions, we were extremely happy to spend a nite here before our cruise. We were greeted by the front desk, assisted by a doorman, and surprised by the number of pedestrian traffic in and around the hotel. The beds were nice, the shower strong, and the AC powerful. The overall room was small, but not unusual for Rome central. They had a pretty decent breakfast. The hotel was clean. Cabs can be called by the front desk. Lots of places to browse, and about 300 yards away, a fabulous square with many restaurants to select from. On mornings, the courtyard is a vendors market. There was an annex wing where the hotel had additional rooms for their guests. It is not an easy area to drive, so I dont recommend driving to this hotel as I saw no parking either. In fact, our driver had a difficult time locating the hotel. Highly recommend and not overpriced.

This hotel is a gem. I couldn't be happier with my choice of the hotel Smeraldo. First of all, the front desk / concierge staff is so helpful and accommodating. Getting cabs, no problem, restaurant recommendations or reservations, check, even organizing car service from the airport. The breakfast that was included with the room was very good and had a large selection of eggs, meats, pastry and their coffee / Cappuccino was pretty good too. The room I had wasn't large, but we didn't spend a lot of time in it while exploring Rome. Comfortable bed, good shower. The location is central to all the major tourist sites and many of them are within a half mile walking distance. The neighborhood is great, lots of small shops and restaurants to visit. If I find myself in Rome again, I'd book this hotel, no problem.

Hotel Smeraldo is a simply wonderful boutique hotel in a lovely location near the bustling Campo de Fiori. We spent four nights there and found that not only did it give us access to the major sites, it had a more quaint, neighborhood atmosphere than the areas directly adjacent to the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. The staff was accommodating and friendly, and we found the rooms to be comfortable with a nice modern aesthetic. The breakfast was exceptional with a lot of healthy and indulgent choices. An added bonus was the popular bakery, Rossoli, located directly across the street from the hotel entrance. While locals would line up for an hour at several times of the day, we could pop right in early in the morning and miss all the lines! An all-round great choice for your Rome stay!

I would say taxi. If you take a bus because the streets are so small they will have to drop you off a few blocks away. Only way to get dropped off right at the hotel will be by taxi/car service.

We had more or less a suite with the kitchen and I small living here and living room. It was terrific and we really enjoyed it. I can’t really compare it to the regular room.
