The apartment Residencia Argentina was ideal for us. So close to everything we wanted to see in such a short time. The accommodation was very well appointed and just ideal for the three of us. Very roomy, comfy bed and brilliant bathroom and shower room. It was just so quiet and secluded and yet outside we were so close to...

I have stayed here before, will stay again. It's a small boutique hotel. The staff is warm and accommodating--every one of them--the rooms well-kept, the breakfast ample and good. But the location: there's nothing like Trastevere. And the driver to the airport, a remarkably good man. (Please don't go. I want this sweet little place and its people for myself.)

Our room was meticulously clean, albeit a tad small - but that's the case with most hotels in Rome. The front desk staff is wonderfully professional and friendly as is the breakfast crew, and the location is perfect. We awoke on a Saturday to the delightful sounds of the market across the street opening for the day. After a classically...

Love this place-located in the quiet and very quaint section of Trastavere, which is fantastic for strolling around and feeling like a local...the hotel has very helpful and friendly workers, a great breakfast (croissants and blood orange juice are fantastic!) and very nice rooms.

This hotel is absolutely in the middle of trendy Trastevere, with its vast number of restaurants, some (but not all) of them very good, and bars. Our room was large, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good, with an endless supply of espresso. Staff were particularly friendly and helpful. Good place to stay.

To their credit, the staff accommodated us at short notice. But in a room with no windows, so small the door wouldn't open fully, a poorly fitting bathroom door and the air-con didn't work. Meaning we had to open the only ventilation (open interior window onto corridor) and listen to other guests coming back all night. After they all settled...

Dear guest, thank you for your review , i am sorry if you didn't appreciated your stay at the Hotel Trastevere, but your was a walk- in , we shown the room in advance, it was an economy room and it was the last available, the air conditioning works perfectly, just ask at reception how it works. No frills, but comfy, clean and good breakfast! Staff is kind and accommodating. Would stay here again in the future. One of the best pizza places in Rome, is around the corner. Look it up in any travel guide. Hotel is not in the historical area but is jut over the river, making for a quiet stay.

Just got back from a 3 night stay. The hotel was 2 minutes away from the main Trastevere area. Didn't hear any noise at night. It was clean, the staff were friendly, and the hotel felt very Italian, it was old fashioned but that's what gave it that real feel of Italy. There are plenty of reastaurants and bars on...

We recently stayed here for one night as our last night on a two-week trip to Italy. We found the hotel to be traditional yet very well-maintained. The hotel is located in a fun neighborhood with plenty of nightlife and interesting shopping. Wish we had more time to explore! The room was spacious, comfortable, quiet, with all amenities. We especially...

This place is in a great location for ATM machines, restaurants and the tram. The longer we stayed here the more I liked it and the neighborhood. Michelangelo had excellent advice whenever he was working the front desk and we loved his personality. Room was average but the breakfast and area it was in was worth the price. They picked...

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
