Have just returned from a 4 night stay in Rome for our 8th Wedding Anniversary. This hotel was in a great location, 15 minute walk from the main Termini station, 5-10 min walk to a main area ( bus collection point for the Roma sightseeing tour) Lots of restaurants down the road and around the hotel, 3 of which we... We enjoyed this hotel very much. Upgraded room, comfortable bed, amazing pillows, plenty of space for an European hotel. In the room we had iron and iron board, refrigerator, microwave and a safe. It is in close proximity to the metro, great restaurants in the area, easy access to all major tourist attractions. The staff is very friendly, breakfast was... More

Dear Ct P, thanks for sharing your review though we think you posted it on the wrong hotel page, probably around Via Flavia, as the services you describe in the room (microwave etc.) are not available in our rooms. We look forward to welcoming you in the near future to have a nice experience with us! Best regards More

Started of ok checked in Tuesday and stayed 4 nights. The Friday was the problem, the morning someone opened our door and then eventually closed it but said nothing? Felt uncomfortable! Sheets put on had a stain and then at 9.30pm I had to go to reception to complain as we had someone doing maintenance work next door! Banging loud... More

We stayed here for 5 days in the October 1/2 term. Staff were excellent on reception and really helpful and friendly. The maid who came and cleaned/tidied our room daily did a super job, the stair carpet is a bit worn but the room was lovely. It was lovely to stay in a hotel that was individual/ shabby chic rather... More

Stayed here for four nights in October. Quiet surroundings so we could sleep with open window. Hotel is old and charming but that of course also has its disadvantages such as small elevator, a little worn carpets and in our room very low water pressure in the shower. Breakfast is included, not very varied but you get bread, ham, cheese,... More

Te hotel is in easy walking distance to all the tourist sites (remember to bring good walking shoes for your trip to Rome) This is a tradtional hotel with charm and character, the staff are friendly and very obliging, Breakfast could have been better but is was adequate to start us on the day ahead. Bar drinks are reasonably priced... More

The stair carpet looks tired, the breakfast room is crowded but this is a good honest hotel where the rooms are clean, the staff friendly and if you close your window and get the AC on then you will have peace and quiet. And it is within a few minutes walk of an exceptional gelataria, (Romana) and a good restaurant... More

The hotel is charming, the room comfortable and clean. The staff is very nice, except for two of men in the reception, who weren't as polite as we may wish (I don't know their names, so I hope not to be unfair). The breakfast is good, if you don't intend stay for more than few days, because the meals never... More

Rooms have comfortable beds and are well kept to this middle-level hotel. We only needed a place to crash by the end of the day and it was more than OK. Breakfast is rather limited in variety but is good. The location is perfect for casual walking to all main attractions (even to Vatican) - and on the same street... More

The rooms are old, dated and the elevator is very tiny and barely fits 2 people with their luggage. Internet does not work well in the rooms but no issues in the lobby and the front desk staff is very friendly.

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Medici Hotel is the perfect hotel for visiting Rome: the building is close some of the major monuments of downtown, about 10-15 minute walk from the Trevi Fountain, the Quirinal Palace, Villa Borghese and Via Veneto, the street well known for Fellini's movie "La dolce vita", symbol of "the sweet life" of stars and jet set personalities. The hotel is also close to Termini Station, then thanks to the Metro and public transport it is easily to reach anywhere else in Rome. The Medici Hotel offers to guests large and comfortable living rooms: the TV room, a comfortable meeting room for 8-10 people, the breakfast room where breakfast is served as a rich buffet breakfast (during the summer months it is possible to have breakfast in our beautiful outdoor garden). The rooms have every comfort (Wifi, Safety Deposit Box, Telephone, Air Conditioning, Laundry Service, Tv, Mini Bar, Room Service, Private Bathroom). The Medici Hotel is located within the Aurelian Walls, near the The Gardens of Sallust, a significant archaeological site: for this reason inside the hotel are visible some Roman remains found during the renovation works at the beginning of twentieth century. The area is lively and well served by bars, restaurants, pizzerias and shops during the day, it is quiet and peaceful at night. ... more   less
