Room was located several buildings away from actual hotel bldg...not as advertised. Given the location, security was in question. Business services as advertised were five blocks away in a laundramat. There are many other more acceptable hotels near the train station.

We paid £55 a night including breakfast and booked through the hotel's own website. Hotel des Artistes is located in the area close to Termini station which isn't the best area of Rome. We didn't personally experience any problems but we didn't always feel totally comfortable when walking the streets at night. It is a good 45 minutes walk to...

We stayed at Hotel Des Artistes for two nights of Aug 1 and 2, 2007. We are a family of two adults and one child aged 5 yrs and a baby aged 5 months, so we were hoping for a decent sized room. The double room we checked into was a good size, given that hotels in continental Europe tend...

When we arrived in Rome, all we wanted was to stay in a nice, clean hotel. it was both of those things, but the thing i forgot to make sure they had was an air conditioning. unfortunately, in the middle of july in Rome, it is not the best weather to stay in. it was so hot at night that...

I had booked a room at the Yes Hotel, but when I arrived they told me there had been a burst pipe on the floor, and they had placed me in their sister hotel, the Hotel des Artistes, a few blocks away. The neighborhood was slightly better than the Yes Hotel, which is about a block from Termini Station, a...

This hotel is a good place to stay - good family rooms, although a bit small, nice staff, a good location and a great rooftop terrace. We were two families with 4 teenage boys, and they loved to hang out on the roof at night or go to one of the internet cafes in the area. The streets around the...

We stayed here and found the place reasonable. Its in a good location but the hotel lacks any warmth. Its a mixture of a hotel and a backpackers and really doesnt cater for either.

This hotel averaged out at about US$133 per night for a double bedroom and the reviews of this place indicated it was a good place to stay in. When we arrived, we were told that we would be staying at a sister hotel (only 10 meters away) at "My Hotel". This was confusing at first but they receptionist insisted it...

As soon as I got there I was impressed by the energy that the staff put into organize with you your trip, even if they're so busy (I think the hote has many rooms and other hotels), any how they were still able to be helpful anytime we asked something and always nice. The room we had was more than...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
