We loved it here! There was nothing not to like! The staff is exceptional, the bar/breakfast room is beautiful, and the rooms are much larger than we thought they would be! Very pretty, too! It is perfectly located -- Termini, Rome's main train terminal, is just 5 minutes walking from here. There are innumerable things that you can very easily... More

We stayed at this wonderful hotel six yeas ago when we were last in Rome and have recommended it to many people. It was our base for 3 days recently and it was good to walk into the lobby and be greeted as returning guests. The rooms are elegant and vary in size. Our room this time was at the... More

The jewel of this hotel is the rooftop terrace where you will find tables and chairs waiting for you to sit, relax and enjoy a glass of wine or breakfast in the morning. There is also a beautifully decorated dining/common area for guests to use. Breakfast is included with your stay and it is a pleasure to sit inside to... More

Well located with excellent restaurants across the street. Good sized comfortable rooms. Limited amenities but everything we wanted. The front desk staff of this small hotel went out of their way to advise us and help with arrangements and made this a most comfortable stay.

Hotel Columbia was out last hotel we stayed in during our two week backpacking venture around Italy for our honeymoon! The staff was amazing and so accommodating. They also gave us a complimentary glass of prosecco for our celebration! Very close to metro stations and walking distance to many big attractions. I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone traveling to... More

The people at Hotel Columbia are wonderful. Even though we arrived early in the day (because of our flight) they quickly got our room ready. Beautiful rooms. Very friendly staff. Breakfasts are good and they will do a special coffee for you. Desk staff very helpful with directions and recommendations.

What a lovely hotel. Great location near Termini and a lovely welcome. It was our honeymoon and they left Prosecco and a welcome note in our room which was really appreciated. A lovely roof terrace for evening drinks or breakfast in warm mornings too. The room was good, we upgraded so had a queen size bed and a street view.... More

Spent three nights with friends in Oct. Found the hotel to be centrally located, close to the train station and two Metro lines. Also, walking distance to most central Rome sites. Verena, who we talked to most, was exceptionally helpful. She she had good answers to all our questions, especially restaurant recommendations. Large and comfortable room. Excellent breakfast. I would... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
