Hotel was in a fantastic location , within easy distance of the main attractions . On arrival we were offered an upgrade to a bigger room however " the view is not so good" is how it was described . The room in fact had NO windows !!! We though we could deal with it , however after one night...

Great hotel, great BIG rooms, great customer service, great location!! It was my first time in Rome, the staff assisted in making travel and dining arrangements - at no extra cost. Everyone was very friendly - the rooftop terrace was breathtaking. The WIFI connection was poor in the rooms but nothing to complain about. The air quality in the rooms...

Excellent location and courteous staff. The hotel presents very well, perhaps the decor is too dark with way too much black. The terrace area for drinks, breakfast and dinner offers superb views over Rome. Breakfast is very comprehensive. The room had a huge bed which was great but did not leave a lot of space in the room.

Business trip for one night, late arrival, perfect welcome, upgrade to Junior Suite (as per request as accorhotel platinum member), lovely terrace for a drink with perfect view on Roma. I do strongly recommend and will come back for sure for my next stay in Roma. Thanks a lot for this perfect moment!

The hotel I believe opened after refurbishment in May, frankly they have opened too soon because the overall finish to the hotel has obviously been rushed. On a positive note the staff were helpful and welcoming including the breakfast staff. However the hotel has a number of niggling features which frankly I expect to be resolved, M room key was...

Not sure what they meant when they told me the hotel has been newly renovated. It looks like someone painted the lobby black and that's about it. Staff in front reception are ok but the breakfast staff not so much. Rooms are very average and not that great. Location is not that great as its far away from all the...

We stumbled upon this place on our first night in Rome. We are really glad that we decided to go and eat at this place. The roof top restaurant is very classy and beautiful. Modern and stylish decor. There is a wonderful view (not blow you away amazing but wonderful none the less). You can see St Peter's in the...

the servers on their rooftop restaurant! The lone lady server was too rude to be in a hospitality industry. She never smiles. But one that really ticked me off was when I asked for a serving spoon since one of their offerings on their breakfast buffet didn't have any. She responded like this: "I am alone here okay, so wait."...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Entwined in an elegant and sophisticated atmosphere in the heart of Rome, la Griffe Hotel is more than just traditional hospitality. The hotel is on Via Nazionale, between Piazza della Repubblica and Piazza Venetia, near the famous fountains of Tritone and Trevi, forming the triangle of Rome’s shopping with Via del Corso and Piazza di Spagna. Ideally positioned to discover the many sights and faces of the Eternal City, with excellent connections to public transport, busses to Vatican City, the Metro (Underground) at 150 m. and near Termini Station. The modern style of interior design is in sweet contrast with the 19th century building and it’s historic location fits it like a frame. The architectural concept is a perfect blend of classic and modern, where luxury and contemporary art surround you in total comfort. ... more   less
