I booked this hotel through lastminute.com and was not disappointed. I had checked some tripadvisor reviews and was a lttle worried by some of the negative comments but I didn't have to be. The hotel was gorgeous with a good sized room. The location was fabulous and the staff were incredibly friendly. We arrived early and had no problems checking...

I took my wife on our wedding anniversary, in February, to this wonderful hotel, we had a fabulous time, everything: the staff, the facilities, the ambience, the restaurant and the location were all well above the norm. I do find it very difficult to understand some of the reviews in regard to hotels of this type, especially from our cousins...

We just returned from a visit to Rome and a stay at the Hotel Splendide Royal. Our experience was very pleasant, the room was spacious, well appointed, immaculately clean and quiet, and the beds were very comfortable. The included breakfast was among the best we have experienced with a great selection, a stunning view of the Villa Borghese gardens and...

Upon checking into the hotel, we were assured breakfast was included. However, when we checked out, we were told we would be charged $35 euros for each breakfast we ate (5 total, twice I only l had toast)! We spoke with the concierge AND the hotel manager who told us the deal they have with expedia is that breakfast was...

Dear Guest, we are surprised to learn about your bad comment, as a matter of fact the Hotel Splendide since 2009 is not selling its room with the breakfast included, except some special offers clearly indicated with room and breakfast. Last year the breakfast was offered complimentary to all guest this year not. You have probably signed each morning in...

Excellent smaller hotel with very good staff. Recieved a room upgrade with a balcony overlooking the Vatican. You can walk to a lot of the sights from the hotel. Good little restauant for Pizza next door. Hotel buffet breakfast was awesome.

This hotel reflects european accommodation as it is meant to be experienced - civilized, easy, elegant, and quietly charming. Although not inexpensive, location, room size, furnishings, ambiance and service justify the cost. Overall, when weighing all factors, this hotel is superior value and I can't wait to return!

After seeing all the photos of the lobby, the tales of good service and the good location I decided to book a room at this hotel. Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
