My husband and I wanted to stay near the Spanish Steps, and the Sofitel was a wonderful choice for relaxing after busy days of shopping and sightseeing . We enjoyed the relative quietness of the immediate area, while all the shopping and tourist sites were a short walk away. The staff was consistently warm and professional during our four day...

We stayed here for three days. We had two adjoining "family" rooms. The check in was easy despite a group of tourists checking in at the same time. The front desk was always helpful and their English was excellent. The rooms were great. The king size matress was so comfortable I'm considering buying one. The restaurant on the roof was...

A wonderful hotel. Very helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms and a good location. I did find it to be a bit pricey however. The upstairs (La Terrace) restaurant has a phenomenal view - however the service was somewhat slow but still much better than any of the surrounding neighborhood restaurants.

Stayed here for 4 nights with family ( 3 rooms in all) and they were all very nice. Well appointed, reasonably spacious rooms, well equipped bathrooms. Pretty much what you would expect from an upscale " Via Veneto" area hotel. It is a bit far from the action, but a quick taxi ride fixes that. But that is a consideration...

Just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel. Husband surprised me with a trip to Rome and this hotel made the trip even better than I could of imagined. Hotel location is perfect, in a quite little street which is perfect after a hectic day of sightseeing around Rome with the crowds! About a 5 minute walk to...

All I can say is - what a disappointment! I've been fighting for my money for over 3 months. I wanted to simply reserve a room for August, not book, and guess what? They flat out charged me the full amount even though I cancelled my reservation! I never even authorized them to charge! Now I am in a huge...

We stayed in the Sofitel, Rome for two nights. We found it was a nice way to get away from the noiseness of the hotels closer to attractions such as the Trevi Fountain. It was probably a 10 minute walk from the hotel to the Spanish Steps, we found with a good city map it was easy to get around....

This hotel was lovely. The rooms were very comfortable, clean and quite large with plenty of storage space (see photos). I loved the beds, my husband thought they were a bit too soft. The service was excellent and the staff very helpful. The hotel is located on a quiet street so you can get a good night's sleep. I felt...

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
