We were a family with a pre-teen boy 13, check in was poor. No welcome, only was asked for passports and credit card upon arrival. Bellman was acting overly exhausted from delivering bags to room I believed that was his way of trying to get a healthy tip. I told him that if your this tired from carring bags you...

We had a nice, quiet, clean room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location near the Via Venito is great. Good restaurants and plenty of shopping abound in the area. The Spanish Steps and the Piazza Barberini are both within a reasonable walk. All in all, we had a very pleasant experience at this hotel and feel it...

Service: The service was not that good. We ordered room service and they simply never sent it. We called them and asked about it and they said they forgot the order. The bellman was too busy talking on the phone once when we were trying to hail a cab. Another time we requested a cab, he simply forgot to call...

Really quite a lovely hotel with very nice rooms and professional staff with one exception. Rooftop dining was a real treat for both food and view. Never quite figured out why casual bar and restaurant were oddly shuttered with no explanation. Because of the hotel's location, the front door personnel was crucial. Unfortunately, the gentleman was a self important, finger...

After two weeks of traveling through Europe our last stop was Sofitel Rome. We were surprised with a free room upgrade. The bed was extremely comfortable, the room very clean. We never saw the cleaning staff but every time we left the room we came back to fresh towels, turned down bed, Italian cookie on our pillows. The hotel very...

Whilst I read all the charming reviews about this Hotel before booking 2 months ago I cannot believe that so many things went wrong during our 3 night stay. Having stayed at other Sofitel and Sheraton hotels around the world and this being our 7th overseas trip I would not have thought these things possible at a 5 star hotel....

Our room was located in a neighboorhood with a number of office buildings etc. but was an easy walk to the Spanish Steps. Nicely appointed hotel and room. Comfortable beds. Though common in Europe, our room was a bit small. The bathroom had one of the half shower doors, so we had a few floods. Staff were friendly and helpful...

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
