This palace converted into hotel is within short walking distance from Termini train, underground and coach station, and quite close to the Colosseum. Staff are very friendly and communicate well in English. Very clean. A very varied buffet breakfast complimented by truly warm and welcoming staff (Mariana, in particular) that started each and every day of our stay in Rome...

City break in December and we enjoyed our stay. Hop on hop off sightseeing bus just across square. All the sights within walking distance (Rome is compact). Nice hotel, room & breakfast. Staff friendly but don't recommended restaurant for dinner.

Definitely recommend this hotel for so many reasons. The location is perfect- 5 minutes walk from Termini but also easy walking distance to the ancient heart of the city- when you've done a hard day's sightseeing it's good to be able to get back to the hotel easily without any hassle. The staff were really friendly and helpful, including reception...

This is a really top quality hotel situated close to the Metro. The Vittorio Emanuel station is a 5 minute walk a couple of blocks down the street from the hotel entrance. The Termini stop is, maybe, 10 minutes away. Tourist Rome is quite small but to get from the hotel to Vatican City some transport is essential, unless you...

First impressions were good, beautiful hotel, great rooms, nice large room. Bathroom with bath and shower. The terrace bar and restaurant were incredible, the views are awesome and inspiring. The mojitos and Chianti were good as was the authentic Italian cuisine. Central location near to Termini was good for visiting all the main attractions. Could not have hoped for a...

We were fortunate to discover Mecenate, after discovering the nearby B&B was up two flights of very steep stairs. Italian generosity came to our rescue, when the B&B manager took us to Mecenate. We enjoyed four nights of Roman hospitality as we dealt with a passport issue. The hotel staff were pleasant and helpful, the breakfast was fine, and we...

My husband, son and I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. The hotel location was excellent, walking distance to the train station. The restaurant was amazing! Breakfast had everything. We will definitely stay there again!

I loved this hotel. It was much quieter than other European hotels and the room was very spacious with a twin, and two doubles pushed together for a couple. We were 3 people, and fit well inside the room. Our stay included the breakfast and I would recommend it. There was American cereals, fruits, yogurt, different types of bread and...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
