the hotel is close to train station with a walking distance of 5 minutes and wonderful breakfast .. no complaints.. the room is a bit smaller than shown in the picture.. but that must be the issue with pictures.. front desk staff is nice but you need to be patient with them... they address issues in orders

We loved the location. Didn't realize that we would be walked next door to our room. A room in the hotel building itself was supposedly more expensive. Our room, off the courtyard, was nice and comfortably furnished. However, with a rainy night we couldn't get much sleep as we listened all night long to the drum beat of water dripping...

Many a time visiting Rome and the 2nd time staying in this particular hotel. Next time in Rome, 100% will stay in this hotel and will recommend to anybody else going. The service is fantastic, 55 euros to be picked up privately at the airport and whisked away into the heart of Rome in a nice car straight to the...

This is our third visit to Rome and to this wonderful hotel in terms of service, cleanness, and location. This hotel will be our choice whenever we be to Rome in the future too. The staff are very helping, polite, and professional. Thank you, Roberto, Piero, Brian, and Antonio. AND a very special thank to the Breakfast team: Mayura, Cristina,...

Plus for Very fast check in and check out. Clean and big rooms. Location Friendly and service minded staff in the breakfast restaurant. Minus for Breakfast are very simple and has not lot variation. We get our rooms not in the same hotel building. Price is a little bit high

The hotel is located at a place it's hard to beat. It's just around the corner of termini (the central station) and just a few steps away from coliseum. The staff are very helpful and speak great English. If I visit Rome again wich is a high possibility I will decently stay here again.

Second time at this hotel in twelve months. I chose The Mecenate again because it is a good hotel and central to most attractions. This time we had a twin room at the front on 3rd floor. Expected it to be noisy as the road is quite busy, but was disturbed only once by a siren. The double glazed windows...

We were on the 4th floor overlooking the back of the hotel with nothing much to look at but the breakfast restauraunt was on the roof and the views from up there were spectacular. It overlooked the beautiful church Mary Maggiore and you can see for miles over the rooftops. There is also a bar on the roof from 5pm...

This hotel is located well, close to termini, Collesso, Mary Major, taxi rank less than 5mins away walking. Hop on Hop off bus stops nearby. Breakfast was lovely and staff in breakfast room also very pleasant, this maybe needs to travel to...

We arrived in Rome very excited as this was our first trip to Italy. When we got to our hotel they told us that we had been "upgraded" to an apartment. At first I was happy about this until I saw where they had placed us. We were taken offsite to a nearby apartment complex that was very dirty, run...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
