My cousin and I stayed for 5 nights in late July. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood right near Roman Forum. The Roman Forum is literally right behind the hotel and Colosseum is about 20 minutes walk from the hotel. Trastevere neighborhood is 10 minutes walk from the hotel cross the river Tiber with great local restaurants. The...

The Kolbe was fantastic!! We stayed here for 4 nights in July and absolutely loved it. We were a bit worried about it being a little far from main attractions, but the location was actually great. About a 10-15 minute walk to the Colosseum and Roman Forum, and if you walk in the other direction, it was only 10 minutes...

We've stayed here twice and loved it both times. It is within walking distance of all the sites of Rome. It is very clean and the included breakfast is wonderful. We have had a room that overlooked the Forum and a room on the courtyard. I liked the courtyard room better as we could sit outside.

Great location, hotel faces the Roman Forum. Friendly, helpful . Breakfast is fantastic and plentiful. Sit outside on patio amongst the fruit trees. Great landscape, grounds and patios. Qiute different from many Rome hotels. Our family room had 2 levels, kids (11&13) loved that privacy. Bathrooms are beautiful. Rooms are clean. Evening, we sat on 2nd FL public patio to...

We stayed here for 3 nights with our children aged 9 and 10. The location is fab and we walked everywhere except the vatican. The hotel is lovely with very professional staff. The rooms are modern and overlook a largr garden where you can breakfast on the terrace. Pretty perfect.

Stayed here for four nights as part of a holiday to Italy. It was a lovely hotel and the rooms were clean and there was no noise. Our room had an amazing view over the hotel gardens which, though small, were lovely. It is tucked away down a quiet street about a minute or so from the Circo Massimo and...

We stayed at the Kolbe Hotel for 4 nights (as a birthday treat) and chose it according to recent reviews. We were not disappointed. We can't fault the hotel or the staff at all. Reception staff and bar/restaurant very friendly. Buffet breakfast really nice and a good start to the day. Rooms clean and modern. Nice quiet street just minutes...

The location of the Kolbe, right on top of the oldest sights in Rome, coupled with the best staff helped to make ours a perfect holiday. The Kolbe is a newly renovated converted monestary and boasts some nice room features like the option of a mezzanine level which was very helpful with us traveling with children. We could put them...

The Kolbe was our home for a week in Rome, and after a noisy hotel in Paris and a dirty hotel in Nice, we were glad we spent the money for a lovely place. We arrived at night, and were so pleased to open our blinds the followng morning and look up at the Roman Forum right outside our window....

Staying in Aventine

Neighbourhood Profile
Aventine
Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is Rome’s oasis. A neighbourhood made up of a patchwork of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of surprises like the clever little keyhole at the Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find a line) along with Parco Savello (Giardino degli Aranci) next to the ancient Santa Sabina church. Keep your eyes on the 1960s architecture, several modern buildings are built atop Rome’s original 4th century BC wall.
