Hotel's Favourite
This hotel has a superb location, tidy and comfortable rooms (and good mattresses and linens), excellent breakfast and, most of all, a very professional and nice staff. Although located in a crowdy area it is very quiet inside. It also sports a nice terrace on the rooftop with a breathtaking view of Rome, where you can sip your Prosecco or read a book in peace. Definitively recommended.

We are an early-retired British couple resident elsewhere in Italy. We stayed at this hotel in June 2020 just as the Covid-19 restrictions on travel had been lifted.
Despite the appeal of the gorgeously baroque hotel room décor we chose an apartment; we prefer to have a comfortable place to sit, some space & facilities. Our apartment was fewer than 20 paces away, directly opposite the hotel frontage, overlooking the small piazza that is also conveniently occupied by a restaurant, an enoteca and a bar. A well stocked Carrefour express is a 20 second walk away and all other supplies are available on and around Campo di Fiori itself.
The apartment building appears very old & sports antique painted walls but once inside the apartment all is clean, modern and well appointed. We were delighted with our accommodation, its location and position. The bed was very comfortable, the double (or maybe triple) glazed windows so completely blocked the ever present street noise of Rome that not only did we have the best night’s sleep ever in over 40 years of visiting Rome but also managed to oversleep by an hour of our usual routine.
Sig. Andrea and his two colleagues were extremely pleasant and helpful; the hotel was smart & clean, it is well positioned in the city for all sightseeing and public transport. The views from the delightful roof terrace (with a lift/elevator to just a few stairs short of the top) are stunning and those lucky enough to have the suites 601 and 603 have these views from their own room terraces, which must be heavenly.
I noted some previous reviews that complained about shabby entrance stairwells, which is an observation by those unfamiliar with Italian & particularly Roman, apartment buildings. The hallways and the central atria of these buildings are rarely lavished with attention & in no way reflect the standards of the apartments they serve.
I am not a frequent reviewer & only tend to put digits to keyboard to recommend or caution. I try to balance pros and cons and describe at least one item to a location’s detriment, just because mentioning a trifle can demonstrate the benefits more clearly. However, the only thing I can come up with for this apartment is that if one is blessed with greater than average height (over 6’6” at a guess) then the ceiling beams are rather low & you are likely to get a couple of bruises; but then you are probably accustomed to that anyway. So, as you can deduce, there is just no reason not to choose an apartment at this charming hotel, much as it grieves me to make the chances of availability lessen for our future return visits.

Dear Guest, The fact you are not a frequent review unless to recommend or caution make us feel even more rewarded and we thank you for that. The apartment you had the opportunity to stay in, is based in a building that dates back to 1462. Our highly sought after area not only is right in the heart of the historical centre, but it also provides all needs from local markets to succulent restaurants to name a few. Our apartments, as you rightly stated provide an excellent base to discover our eternal city and are provided with all modern comforts one might expect along with great space and privacy. Also, while staying in an apartment full access is granted to our main building along with the roof top terrace where you can enjoy enviable 360° views of Rome. Thanking you once again for your outstanding and thorough review, we cannot wait to welcome you back once again in a close future. Let your memory be your travel bag. Warmest regards, The Manager

Hotel Campo de Fiori has been a fabulous base for our visit to Rome over the last 5 days. Located just off the piazza of Campo de' Fiori itself it is centrally situated within the centro storico and well placed to access many of the most popular sites. The reception staff, who are a warm and welcoming presence on the front desk at all times day and night can call taxis when travelling further. The market in piazza Campo de' Fiori is aimed more at tourists than locals but it is still pleasant to see every morning. In the evening the restaurants and bars are busy and vibrant and offer a handy alternative to travelling further. (The staff are excellent at providing guidance on which are the best.) You are also well placed to walk over to Trastevere, a popular area of bars and restaurants with a more bohemian vibe. The hotel is well placed in a quiet corner just off the piazza in a lovely old building with traditional features including curved ceilings. It has been beautifully decorated and fixtures and fittings are off high quality throughout. Breakfast times are well spread so you need not get up too early and offers both continental buffet as well as some freshly cooked options. The hotel also has a lovely roof terrace with a great views of the city from St Peters round to the Vittorio Emmanuele Monument and offers a drink service by phone from reception. Huge thanks to the staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

Dear Roger, Your review is very flattering, and I cannot be more delighted for the expressions you have dedicated on our Boutique Hotel! Thank you. We undeniably are the actual opposite of big chain hotels, where all our guests are taken care of as members of our bigger family. Providing a tailored and attentive service with passion and genuinely recommending just the worthiest experiences to have in our Eternal City is what sets us above the others. On behalf of the whole staff, I thank you again for your fantastic review, wishing to welcome you back as our guests. The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart. Warmest regards, The Manager

Just spent 3 nights at this hotel. We love it! The staff are friendly and very helpful. The rooms were spotless and I am hard to please when it comes to hotel rooms being clean. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and stunning throughout. The Location of this hotel is perfect with the bus stop for both vatican and collaseum just 4 minute walk away, there is plenty of restaurants with outdoor seating scattered around the building with cheap street food also available. Not to mention the beautiful courtyards and parks in the area. Will reccomend this hotel to everyone who asks how rome went.

Dear Guest, I am truly delighted reading you have had such a memorable stay. The fact that you are hard to pleased, yet you pointed out how clean our rooms are which highlights even more how much attention we put into detail. Our historical building brought back to its original baroque beauty along with our rooms provided with antique furniture make us a characteristic Boutique Hotel. Moreover, our hearty breakfast with local product, our enviable views on our roof top terrace, our personal attention to customer care with the empathic and accommodating staff are all the necessary ingredients to provide a once in a lifetime experience in our eternal city. Just spent a week in the gorgeous Hotel campo di fiori with a teenager and Aunt. The location is fantastic in a small piazza just off the busier campo di fiori . All the major sites are within easy walking distance with loads of shops and restaurants on the doorstep. The hotel itself is lovely with beautiful baroque rooms-all spotlessly clean and the breakfast is great with a large selection( pancakes very popular with the teenager) . The staff are so helpful with advice on restaurants to booking trips or even just a car to the airport- nothing is too much trouble. Will de stay again!

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely boutique hotel in Rome. Set just off the Piazza Campo De’ Fiori, the location is central to all important sights in the city. Exceptionally clean rooms with updated bathrooms. Outstanding and very friendly service from all reception desk staff, housekeeping, breakfast room staff, and wait staff who bring drinks to the rooftop lounge. So friendly and accommodating! The open air rooftop area has clean, updated furnishings and exquisite views of the city. Don’t miss it if you stay. The room was adequate in size, very clean, with crisp linens and large towels provided. Furnishings are traditional in style. The breakfast was very, very good, a wide selection is provided and the lovely attendant will make eggs to order and coffee Americano with warm milk. The piazza can be loud at night, and the market and restaurants on the piazza are a bit “touristy”, so recommend asking front desk staff for recommendations a short distance away. Instead of staying at a larger chain hotel we highly recommend a stay at this small boutique hotel.

While discussing where to stay in Rome, my wife asked me if i wanted a modern hotel like we usually stay at or something smaller with more traditional Italian looks and style. I told her to make reservations at the Hotel Campo de Fiori after she showed me some photos.
We were so well pleased. The staff was friendly and well dressed and the building itself is older and well preserved, fitting in nicely with surrounding buildings near the Piazza Campo de' Fiori. We felt like we were in real Italy, real Rome, and not a chain hotel on a busy road. The room itself was quaint with a comfy bed and very nice bathroom, and our windows opened to overlook the restaurants below. It felt like we were part of the local Roman culture; it was an intimate connection with the neighborhood.
Due to its great location, we walked everywhere and tried many restaurants close by and farther away, and we knew we would enjoy returning to the hotel each evening. After dinner we sat in the chairs by the entrance to the hotel, partially behind the potted plants, and enjoyed drinking coffee and watching people walk by. So this hotel is not just about renting one room, it's about an overall experience of being in and connecting with Rome. The only regret we have is that we didn't go up to the roof until our last afternoon when the weather was beautiful. There are three levels and sitting areas on the roof with 360 degree views of the city- beautiful!
We highly recommend this hotel, especially to those on vacation who can take in the full experience, and we hope to visit again. A warm thank you to the Hotelier Andrea Martinelli for his warmth each time we spoke with him.

We enjoyed our 4 night stay at this hotel. Stayed on the top floor with a private terrace. Comfortable bed. Clean. Nice size room. Helpful and friendly staff. Good breakfast. The highlight here is the combination of location and good pricing We were able to walk EVERYWHERE from here, but taxis were plentiful as Campo di Fiori and Piazza Navona are alive day and night.

I stayed here with my husband in February and it was absolutely perfect! The location is within walking distance to everything and the hotel is actually a collection of apartments in the nearby area (in addition to a few rooms in the hotel itself). So it's really great because you can have the space and authenticity of staying in an Italian apartment, but still with the service and amenities of a boutique hotel. Make sure to check out their beautiful rooftop terrace as well!

We had a great stay at Hotel Campo de Fiori. We booked apartment B1 which is in a separate building opposite the hotel. The room was very spacious (front room w/ TV, pullout couch, separate bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. What we loved best was the room had two windows overlooking the small square in front of the hotel. While there was a lot of noise below, the modern, double paned windows completely sealed out any noise and allowed for peaceful sleep despite late-night revelers and early morning market setup. The room had the feel of a typical Roman apartment more so than a hotel and its location was great for easy access to all the major tourist sites in the downtown area.
The front desk staff was extremely pleasant, quite fluent with English, and efficient providing us help booking tours and an airport transfer. Kudos to Francesco for all his help especially tracking down items we left in the room. We would definitely recommend this hotel and can't wait for our next trip to Rome.

Dear Guest, I am charmed by the fact you have totally caught and appreciated the real atmosphere of the location of a unique historical background as only a real traveller would do. Our apartments are very spacious and comfortable for families and those who wish to have more privacy. They are serviced daily and are provided with all modern comforts one might expect from strong AC, Wi-Fi, fully equipped kitchen and as you rightly pointed out, double sound proof windows and at the same time they grant you an experience of local life. Furthermore, I am delighted you have fully relied on our emphatic staff and you indeed felt fully gratified. They follow you from the moment you reserve by booking pick-ups and guided tours with the best local guides only and follow you up after check-out for any needs. All this turns one’s stay into a truly memorable all round Roman experience and as our motto goes, you have turned our Boutique Hotel into your home away from home. Thanking you for your meaningful 5-star review, Francesco and the whole staff cannot wait to welcome you again in the close future. Excellence is not skill, it is an attitude. Hello
there is no rooftop from the apartment that i am aware of. The rooftop is on the main hotel. There is a 5 minutes walk between the apartment and the hotel. If you are going to spend a lot of time on the rooftop then hotel is your better option. We did a lot of walking so rooftop was not our priority. Even if you stay in the apartment you can still go to the rooftop
Yes, compact but fully adequate. My wife was using a four wheel walker and we had no problems using the elevator together.
The above answers were what I was going to say. The difference is there is a server in the basement but not out in front or on the roof for breakfast. There is rooftop service during the day & at sunset.
The wife and I love to sleep in late and had no problems with noise.
Dear future Guest,
There is no problem to check-in at that time.
kind regards
Francesco
