We strongly recommend this hotel for the following reasons: The staff Is extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is modest but more than enough. The location is great – it’s only a couple of minute walk from the Metro station and about 10-15 minutes’ walk to the Colosseum. There are a few very...

The very short two minute walk from Manzoni Metro station, and easy five minute tram ride from the Colosseum, make La Locanda an excellent choice for visitors to Rome. All the room facilities are first class and exceptionally comfortable, and the breakfast buffet substantial and generous. The only downside is a very inconsistent wi-fi service in the rooms, and the...

My partner and I booked into this hotel last minute because the BnB we had previously booked was terrible. Because of our last minute booking we paid a premium price, but the room was clean and comfortable and the location was ideal for connecting to the metro and Rome Termini station. It is also a short walk to the Colosseum....

The best with this hotell is the location. Just take the Subway when you arrive to centralstation in Rom. Get off at Manzoni and you are a few steps from the hotell. Close to Colloseum and good restaurants. Its a simple hotell but feels fresh and the staff is really friendly and helpfull.

Well situated - within a mile of the Colosseum and Termini railway station. Also, Manzoni Metro stop just round the corner. Quiet neighborhood. Friendly, helpful service round the clock. Plenty on offer at breakfast both healthy and typically Italian. The bed was a bit hard and as our door was right beside the stairwell we could hear other guests on...

A cosy structure with all the needed services, very close to Metro and Termini Rail Station. Small room but well organised. Comfortable staying also thanks to service personnel, extremely helpful and friendly. A nice sojourn for a weekend in Roma.

If your'e planning on going to Rome and stay comfortable, safe and clean; this is a great place! I stayed November 2014 with my mom, excellent service, good breakfast, easy to find if you've never been in Rome. Very close to Manzotti station (5 or less minute walk, at night is kind of dark but the neighborhood is safe and...

Location of the hotel is perfect: within a walking distance from Termini station, Colosseum, other major attractions and just a few minutes from Manzoni metro station. It's on a quiet street, so the outside noise is not a problem at all. Inside it can be a problem though, as you can hear the sounds from the staircase and sometimes even...

To arrive in Rome and discover that where you have booked has shut down rattles you a fair bit, especially when you don't speak Italian and you have no idea where you are. Luckily a lovely woman in a restaurant next to our origin accomo recommended La Locanda, rang them for us to make sure they had a room and...

First of all we were sent to another place to stay - annex apartments- Domus, although we booked for a hotel, located nearby 2 streets away. The staff was very nice trying to make the most of what they had to offer. Room was small but clean with well equipped bathroom. The hot water was a problem 5 seconds very...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
